ST-2305 Leak

We make our own now at Innovative. Soon will have them for sale. dump valve.jpg

James if you will lose that valve and go with a parker 1/4 inch it will last much longer you want all your customers happy right??

We have used the ST-2305 gun since we started but right now i think 3/4 of our guns are leaking. Is this normal for 6 months of use for these? Are there better options out there to avoid leaking this early?

6 months is good. We get 3 months out of ours. You can get a rebuild kit for cheap but it doesn't last very long.

I'm using ST1500's and they haven't started leaking at 9 months. I was using General pump guns and they lasted about a month. Once in a while the St1500 will leak for a few minutes, then stop. I think it is debris or something trapped somewhere down the line.

I hated the 1500's. I always had the worst luck with them. Glad they work for you.

I think there are two different ones. I ordered a rebuild kit and they sent me the wrong one the first time. Maybe you got the other ones. No problem with SH or anything going through them.

Trigger Guns

generally speaking..
except for temperature-rated o-rings, and pressure-rated bodies..
Trigger gun valves are simple pin-to-ball valves..
if the pin and ball are stainless steel, they should last as long as the pin can wear against the ball,
but.. debris happens..
your rusting heater coil sends a LOT of abrasive debris down through your hoseReel swivel,
..and through the trigger valve, and then your spray nozzles.
older machines eat trigger guns.

My 1st st-2000 wouldn't stop pressure when downstreaming after 3 months and then leaked. I bought a repair kit from Bob and fixed that.

My 2nd wouldn't stop pressure when downstreaming right out of the box. I didn't feel like screwing with it so I only use it for actual pressure. I'll probably take it apart and blast some silicone lube in there.

My st-601 started leaking last week, another repair kit took care of that.

The Giant that came with my machine hasn't leaked yet, but it rarely gets used downstreaming. I keep a 6' lance on my one Suttner, a 3' on another and no lance on the 601. I like the Suttner for downstreaming.

I use the Suttner 2605 I believe, relaxed action guns. You pay a few more bucks for them but they are well worth it. With other guns my hand start cramping up on me. I normally get about 6 or 8 months use out of them. When they go I just toss them, not worth rebuilding them to me.

I am the same, relax guns are easier on the hands, toss them when they start to leak enough to bug me. I easily have 20-25 different guns between the three trucks with different lengths, bends, ect.

Low grade guns are like low grade boots. You can make them work and save some money, but sometimes the savings ain't worth the pain.

2605's for me... and spares in the tool box.. rebuilt kits at the shop...btw....... sometimes debris can get caught in the ball.. try cleaning it out.... or just rebuild it..
