setting the unloader correctly?

i have a question! i adjusted my unloader an it seems to be out of wack! any help would be great, how do i set it back i have 25,40,15 degree i need to set it to the exzact psi. its a hydrotek 5.5 gpm 3500 psi

Put it on right at the pump. Take the screws off, even the ones under neath the cap, take spring off to do that. Loosen the unloader all the way. Put the right sized nozzle on a gun. start er up. Open gun. Start cranking down slowly until the gauge reads 3500. Let go of trigger and gauge should read about 3800+ or -.It's that easy, once it is set put the screw back on to keep it in place. If you are having a hard time getting there, your unloader might be screwed. Been seeing a lot of that lately. Tell Russ Johnson what kind of unloader you have, and he will steer you in the right direction. He knows all. And stop screwing with it. I set my unloader and haven't touched it since. Use nozzles to change pressure.

its the other style unloader that the hydrotek has, i know which one ur talking about i had that style on my old BE unit. but when i try an adjust it with my 15055,25055 degree nozzles an have the trigger open i cant get passed 2900 psi. and when i have the trigger closed the gauge says 0. my gauge was at the gun side but i have a feeling its gonna be the same on the pump side. but the unit works great no loss of pressure or nothing but i jus wanna get that set i will check it out again

oh and my surface cleaner has (2) 25025 nozzles in it so the pressure is a little higher then the 15 and 25 nozzles.

How long is the hose. You lose 130 psi per 100 feet.

it was normally 250 ft but i hooked up just a 50 ft hose this time. wonder y i cant get pressure up. the unloader adjusts fine until it gets to 2900 then it wont go anyhigher, but when i put a 25040 nozzle in itll jump up passed 3000, but i am spost to run a 55 digit nozzle right?

According to the nozzle calculator, you should be using a #6 tip for 3500 psi and 5.5 gpm machine. that is one problem right there. Pressure pro sent me the wrong size nozzles on my machine too. Don't now why. Also 25025 nozzles = a #5 nozzle so you are bypassing a lot or water when you use you SC. and it doesn't create more pressure, if your unloader is set at 2900 or 3500 or whatever, the right sized nozzle or a smaller nozzle will hit whatever your unloader is set at and start bypassing water.

You will have to ask Russ. He sells hydroteks and will know what unloader you have. A 5.5 nozzle is for a 4000 psi machine. For a 3500 psi machine the nozzle chart says #6 punch it in yourself
