customer not wanting me to use SH.

My new customer said he was concerned about using chemicals that are non biodegradable to wash his pavers and drveway, they do have alot of mold, moss and algae what should i do here he wants a big degradable i love using SH/ Bleach, should i squirt something any it to cover the smell or do yall have something else in mind!? simple green isnt any good?

Let him know that's the proper way to clean this clean, that you know how to use the cleaners safely and not cause damage. If you use anything else and it really molded it will just come back, IF it comes clean with the surface cleaner then maybe just downstream a light bleach with a heavy cover scent. that's how I would do it, but then again I don't know exactly what your getting into. GOODLUCK! sure it won't be a problem

i will tell him, i am going to be surface cleaning pavers with thick black mold. i am going to crank my hot water on as well to help. what PSI do you think i should use surface cleaning pavers im trying to not blow the sand out

im jus going to squirt a **** load of my green dawn apple blossom liquid soap? lol it should cover it.

If you're in the Houston area you should look into Doug Ruckers Pressure Cleaning School. He will show you the ropes and then some for roof cleaning and pressure washing.

Don't try to fool the customer, educate him. If there's no educating, either move on, or ask him for a suggestion. Trying to fool him and getting caught will only make you look like a dishonest businessman

jeremy i will do that. i understand and see what your saying. i just didnt want to lose this job i need it dont have very many lined up. it seems slow for pressure washing but im workin harder each time.

I know money is tight, but sometimes it's better to walk away. The time and effort it could take to satisfy this customer would be better spent marketing your business to new customers. If you try to do it the way they want it done instead of the way you know it should be done, you are asking for a potential problem. This customer will most likely be a pain through out the process.

Spend the time you would have spent convincing him and doing the job making sales calls and marketing your business. In the long run you will make more money doing this instead of dealing with a difficult customer.

Best of luck to you

He said he wanted biodegradable. Bleach turns to salt, can't get any more bio degradable. It also kills the algae you are trying to clean off. Just tell him it comes out of your injector at 20:1, and will not harm the grass or any painted surfaces. I can't believe there are people still concerned about bleach. Down here they want you to use it. I have little old ladies asking me if I am going to soft wash their house.

I always get a handful of these every year. For me about half will listen as you educate them and will let you do the work. While others still won't be convinced. Those I just pass on for me it's like Mark said the time and effort you spend trying to convince them may not be worth it depending on what the job is.

Educate Educate Educate

Its only harmful if you take a swig of it!

especially for what your doing

Mike, I try not to drink it, but I sure as hell seem to take a lot of showers in it! LOL

PressureWasher2014 - follow this link to Oregon State University. Print out the part of the page that deals with bleach for Moss Control and give to the customer. Works 99% of the time.

Dude you're a mess. The next time that happens you politely say, I am going to have to pass on this one". You are the one doing the job, not the customer. Number one, using no chemicals, makes the job so much harder. You don't kill any mold, mildew and algae so the minute you leave it starts coming back, repeat business and referrals are probably never going to happen.

Man you don't know when to move on, if you put up with some old crumpet's BS and then didn't get paid what you should have. If you really want to run a business any business, you have to act like a professional, when somebody demands you do something that's going to make you look like an idiot, you move on before that happens, not after.

If a customer knows what SH is............... I'll kindly ask them to spell what it stands for. Then ask them how much is used in their municipal water supply that they pay for. Then again, if a customer doesn't want bleach used........ "I don't purchase bleach, I use a specific soap mixed with Sodium Hypochlorite, I have used it with great success." Add whatever sales trigger word tracts wherever you want.

Then again..... If they are asking..... Greatly increase your price............. or RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!
