chemical injector not pulling chemical?

its wierd. my hydrotek 5.5 gpm unit, when i have the chemical injector hooked with a 50' high pressure hose an my soap nozzle it pulls chemical threw fine perfect and strong but... when i have 200' of hose with my soap nozzle that i normally use it will not pull chemical threw? why is that?

Usually you have to drop a size on the injector to pull through extended hose lengths.

Try a different injector. Injectors can make you want to pull your hair out one minute they work fine the next they don't. I always keep a handful of spares ready to go.

It's not weird at all. The way an injector works has been posted 100's of times on probably every forum. You need a certain pressure differential between the input and the output on the injector for it to open up and inject soap. When you use a bigger size injector the back pressure a longer hose creates, shuts the injector off, because a larger orifice means less pressure on the input so the difference isn't enough. A smaller injector size insures that the difference in pressure is always enough to open the injector even with a lot of back pressure that a longer hose creates. Just remember to take the injector off or make an injector bypass, when you are using a surface cleaner because a smaller injector causes your unloader to bypass flow that you want and need.

Yeah what Art said about Russ! I use a 2-3 gpm injector on my 5.5 machine, and can pull through at least 350 feet of hose. That's the longest I have tried.
That's a lot of hose!

Oh ok, yea I saw that one on your fb page not too long ago. Nice job

With the 5.5 gpm unit a 2.1 injector should work with that length hose. Take a look at your gun too, Small orifice guns will cause restriction so when you start adding hose there is too much restriction for the injector to work.

i went from a 2.3 to a 2.1 injector still samething i will check out the gun. it works up to 100 foot hose and thats it.

Thanks yall. i figured it out i simply switched to my 12 gpm gun BAM! im still gonna keep the 2.1 injector

yea im gonna get a ball valve soon make it lot easier instead of keep turning the pressure washer off.

I use my ball valve to apply chems. Open it up until I get soap, manipulate until I get all I'm gonna get. The only time I use a gun is with my Xjet.

I never could get that to work.
