200 Feet Continuous

Just wondering,..Are there twisting issues when running a continuous length of 200' high pressure hose from a reel? I use a Mosmatic high pressure swivel at the trigger handle and that definitely helps when using sections as I do now. Wondering if also adding a high pressure swivel at the hose reel end would be of benefit,..or maybe isn't even needed? Just debating on going to an electric reel.

Thank You,
Jeff

Jeff, that's how we roll. We've used 200' continuous of PW hose for years. Your pressure hose will have a swivel end and a stationary end. We put the swivel end at the reel and hook our Mosmatic swivel on the stationary end with the gun. It won't eliminate all twisting issues but with the electric reel you can work them out quickly as they come to you. Still 1000% faster than manual reeling.

Been using 200' and 300' hoses for years, much easier to connect using the swivel end of the hose at the hose reel like Guy mentions.

Thanks Christopher,...

I think I'm gonna get the blue this time,..I've always used the black smooth cover hose,..but it leaves marks on white vinyl railing that it happens to get against and will also leave marks on concrete. We always cleaned the marks,..but I think I'm ready to avoid extra work,Ha,Ha,..

*The only reason I've used black was because it always just looked black,..even after getting scuffed up and used,..just figured the blue would getting crappy looking from use,..stupid reasoning I guess,..Ha,Ha,..

I have used gray a few times and it seems to start dry-rotting faster than the black or at least you see it easier on the gray.

I have had the blue, black and gray hoses and only the gray has not left marks, at least I did not see them.

I have attached hose onto reels not using the swivel end and it was a major pita to say the least. You can buy swivel connectors to put on the reel or other parts of the pressure washer so when you need to change parts out, much easier and faster especially on the unloader.

Good luck on the longer hose.

Thanks Chris. My hoses don't last long enough to dry rot! And I have had bad experience with the black, when I was doing decks, there were always black marks all over the place. I did hear that the blue leaves marks also and like Jeff said, I want to avoid extra work. Oh yeah, I also had a nice time trying to put the solid connector end on the hose reel, LOL. It was my first experience with a hose reel and knew no better. It turned a 2 minute job into a 20 minute job. Live and learn.

I get my hose from a local hose company and I have swivels put on both ends. I buy the blue hose and it never leaves marks. As far as hoses that leave marks I think it depends on manufacturer. I've had blue hose that did leave marks.

I use blue and never see marks. They will leave residue if scrapped across concrete or vibrate against something for a period of time but never see color from just dragging against something.

I agree,..not having a live swivel on the end of a hose makes it a bugger to hook to a reel. The Kuri-Tec roof cleaning hose I get comes with two solid stainless ends,...first year I twisted and twirled it on,...then I had a vision the next year,..I used quick couplers at the reel connection,..much easier!

I've always used the Goodyear "Black Neptune" smooth cover hoses. Anyone have experience with the blue version leaving or not leaving marks?

We use the Goodyear "Blue Neptune" hose Jeff, I have seen it leave marks on concrete but nothing a light rinse won't take care of. Compared to some of the other hose out there it's expensive, but after using just about every low cost hose out there I feel the Goodyear Neptune is the better value.

Just out of interest with regards to the hose question what are the spec's of the BLUE hose that everyone is advocating here?
I am up for first time replacement of the hose on my setup and I have been making enquiries here in New Zealand with various suppliers and to be honest I am not sure Exactly what to tell them I want. My Machine came with 30 metres of black (marking) hose on it and I don't know what the original spec's of the hose were. I want to go to 50 metres non marking hose. I currently run the original 30 metres plus a 15metre extension on that and the extra 5 metres would be a huge plus at hopefully not an extra lot of cost. Would any of the suppliers on here ship to New Zealand???? Be more than happy to deal with people that know what I need providing the cost and shipping was reasonable to NZ.

Thanks Guy,.. Glad to see your opinion on the Blue,...Seeing how I just placed the order at PressreTek for the Titan 5518E and 200' of Blue Neptune.

This is what we have, and it comes in 1 wire 4000psi, or 2 wire 4500psi.
Not sure if Bob ships to NZ?!?

Hi Chris thanks for that. 200 feet of hose ex USA @ $316.00USD works out to be $418 NZD which is VERY competitive with the prices I have had from NZ suppliers so far. Freight could be the killer. Need to ask " What would you recommend 1 wire or 2?"

I prefer and use the 1 wire,..just lighter, more flexible/manageable. Run mostly low pressure except when doing concrete and running surface cleaner.

I replace every two years to keep ahead of blowouts.

Hi Jeff
Yes like your way of thinking. Like you most of my work is in the low pressure range with a bit of concrete work and some hi pressure work.
Stuart.

If you run a hot water machine 2 wire would be recommended....If not 1 wire will do just fine.......I would be sure to pick up a few re-usable hose end repair kits for the "What Ifs".

You will find the Blue Neptune to be a bit more Beefier that some of the cheaper hoses out there, but again in my findings it's been the best value & longest lasting.

Just Saying......
