Fax Machine Question

Hello Everyone,

I have a H.P. All in one that is supposed to distinguish between phone calls and faxes but does not and I turn it on when I need to fax something. I cannot leave it on because it will answer with fax sounds and I will not get any messages. The machine is about 6 or 7 years old. Does anyone have a fax machine that you share on the same phone line and it actually works correctly? I cannot afford a separate fax line right now so that is why I need one that will work on the phone line. Thanks for any help.

I am currently using the Brother all in one fax/scanner/copier and it receives faxes after the answering machine picks up. It was cheaper than the HP model that does the same thing.

I started out with an all in one. Broke 2 months out of warranty and cost too much to fix. Bought a scanner and a fax program for the computer...no more problems.

I used to use an HP all in one, but I had a dedicated phone line for the fax. In recent times, I have used www.efax.com ..........and the coolest thing is when you get a junk fax, it doesnt waste any paper........you simply delete it. Print only the faxes you need to...........and archive all of your faxes on your hard drive. Its great.
