Equipment diagnosis

Ok So heres the problem.
Hot water machine- My ignitor seems to be starving for power. Sometimes it runs like a bear, sometimes the ignitor studders and the chamber loads up with fuel, then when it does ignite its rumbles until it burns off the excess fuel.
I thought it was the ignitor so I replaced it. Ran great for about 10 minutes and now its doing same thing.
I replaced the cam switch about 2 months ago because it got broke off. Thought maybe the new switch wasnt making a proper connection?
Checked vacume switch, it seems to be ok, What the heck is going on with this thing?
Drive motor for squirrel cage and fuel pump is getting hot quick, thought maybe the drive motor may be getting weak and making the ignitor work harder to obtain proper voltage to fire. ?:confused

What kind of machine you got there, Goat? 120 volt electric? How is it powrerd, generator or extension cord? If cord, what size, length and gauge?

ALKOTA 120 volt extension cord 12 AWG 50 foot

I still think theres something up with the drive motor for the burner unit. Its getting super hot.But the internal reset button is not poping out. Sometimes the burner motor shuts down after getting warm.
So could be a bad extension cord? Hmm
or bad power switch?

How old is the machine and how many hours of operation? Have you ever oiled the motor? 12/3 cord, 50' long is really pushing it for voltage drop. Your machine should pull 21 - 23 amps full load. According to my reference, 12 ga wire is good for only 30'. That includes the extension cord and the cord on the machine. 10 ga is good for 57'.

Ive been running machine for about 2 years now with usual updates---> fuel pump, rotary cam switch, new water pump, and now new ignitor as I thought the ignitor was week. I believe I have a short somewhere(wiring?) maybe new cam switch, or the drive motor for squirrel cage and fuel pump is getting tired and drawing to much for the ignitor to fire.
Hours of operation I really couldnt tell you.Never really broke it down into hours of usage, It gets used freqeuntly. lol.
I understand the cord issues. I have never had this problem before. I tried 2 different cords and a few different receptacles to see if it would make a difference.
I have always used 50 foot of 12 guage wire-so with ten foot cord on machine its 60 foot.
Going back out to tinker some more.

So heres what I found out. Ceramic insulator on ignitor had a hair line fracture in it.
I took this thing apart and cleaned it twice before I found it.Was causing internal arking before reaching top of electrodes.I took the gun assembly out and set it up on ignitor contacts and could see the arking taking place.
That coupled with some jostling around of late had off set my electrodes also.
Going to replace the blower motor while Im at it. Preventative maintinance is the way to go.

Thanks to Russ from http://www.southside-equipment.com/ for taking the time out of his day to speek to me .
