You know, the last time I offered my 2 cents, I got an ear full.
So I will try to keep my opinions to myself this time around.
So that you know, our rigs are custom in design. They cost more than buying 2 or 3 pressure generic pressure washers ( Like Alkota) and mounting them on a trailer that you buy from a dealer or order from a catalog. Labor on the west coast is $100 to $135 an hour plus materials.
Well, what would you like to know? I design all my rigs. We do not go cheap on anything. From hoses to steel. All trailers are powder coated, not painted. I have them sand blasted and baked in a oven for 5 hours. All equipment is fitted first, then removed for the powder coating.
Spec's...
2.2 million BTUs ( Combined )
11.6 GPM ( Up to.... Combined )
Drive System is Hydraulic ( Not Belt)
Hose .....200 ft each reel of R2 1/2 inch
Radiator for Hydraulics
3.3 liter turbo diesel
Decking of trailer is 3/8" diamond plate steel ( Not 1/8 or 3/16 as most)
All square tubbing is 3/8" thick... ( Not 1/4 )
All welds are double welds and then sanded for smooth finish.
Cross beams are 4" C Channel set at 12" apart ( Not 3" at 16" or 24" apart)
Axles are Drop Axles rated at 14 K
Highest point is the surface cleaner which is 6 ft 4 inches
Able to hit up to 5000 psi at any giving GPM's ( Can run at 1 gallon per minute or 11.6 at 5,000 psi all at a turn of a knob while motor stays at a constant 1900 rpms. The RPM and the power strain on motor is constant at any GPM)
Able to hit high temps at 300 degrees. ( Did it once, but will not do it again. Cost too much... hose melted. Reels O rings had problems shortly after. We now run it at 265.
In Feb. at 39/40 degrees with water at 35 degrees, we are able to reach and maintain 240 degrees at the end of 200ft with only 1 boiler on at 4,500 psi.
When weather is 55 to 60 at night, we hit gum and it dose not melt.... it evaporates in a puff of smoke. We do not etch the cement.
Unit is designed for garage cleaning and gum removal, though we could do hoods, wood, etc. We choose to only do cement. The unit costs to much to build for small jobs under 5k.
We only do commercial, no residential.
Shell refinery offered us 100k for the unit above and did not want to wait for us to build them one.... we turned them down.
The 4 cylinder 3.3 liter diesel motor runs at 1,900 RPM's. Red line is 3,100. In theory, this motor should out last the trailer running at 61.3 % of the maximum range of the rpms. Most washers use a Honda gasoline 24 hp at full throttle. ( running at 100% of the RPM's and a Honda lasts for many years.)
Some of the members who have seen our machine on this site, have asked us if we would be interested in building them one. I have refused.
Please do not take this the wrong way, but I built these units for our business. With these units, we have no real competition in garage cleaning for what we do.
These machines get allot of attention. I have other companies here in California follow me for 50 miles waiting for me to pull over to ask me where they can get one.
We are not a manufacture and due to the extreme heat, I do not want to accept any liability for building the unit.
At today's prices, the cost to build the unit should be around 80-85k to build.... cash. We would sell it for 95-100k
