Mark,
You did a nice job with your website. Every time I see these sites I keep telling myself to do one for my business.

The only question I have concerning your site is why do you have the city skyline on your opening web page? That would be the only thing That I would change unless that is a market that you deal with which means you do major commercial work and I did not get that feel from your web pages which seemed to be more towards residential.

Either way you did a real nice job. How much does it cost to build a website like that? Also is there a monthly service for your website considering that your not selling products on it?

Looks Good!

Hey Mark, I took a look and I agree with John the site looks very good and easy to navigate through but I agree the skyline on the main page kindd of leads us to believe you may want more commercial work even though your really only showing residential photos. Just my opinion. Best of Luck to you.

John, I had my site professionally designed for under $1000.00 and this may sound high but if you look at my site with the motion graphics and the many, many pages it takes to enlarge photos, even have a slide show of photos. Let me begin by telling you my site paid for itself in the first few weeks after magnetic signs were placed on my truck with the web address, many large firms began e-mailing me requesting quotes saying my company looked very professional and they had only seen my truck and website. The monthly fee includes domain name and all for only $6.95 mo. change out of your pocket each night.

Clean Country PW

Well since i built the site myself, i only had to pay for the name which was about 80 bucks, then the cost to maintain the site on a server which is about 15 bucks a month. Its a real good investment i think. That way if you post flyers out you can have your site on there also and gives the impression of a more established company i feel. I have been investing in the yellow pages this year. About $15,000 will go for a 1/4 page, color add, along with my regular advertising so this year should be really good.

thanks guys

Hi Mark,

Web site looks good... I would have to third the skyline thing. I would also setup a page explaining why you use penofin and its qualities rather than sending your customers to ANOTHER site. You wanna keep them on your page... no distractions! They may goto penefin and find something there that interests them MORE than your site... like a how to restore your deck article!! What program are you using for developing the site Mark? If you want some ideas take a peek at our sites. It took me a looong time to develop them to this stage but I think there pretty good.

thanks for you reply

Im am also wanting to change the skyline picture but i cannot figure out what to put into there to make it look right. I know it doesnt quite fit, but im still looking for something, if you have any ideas please let me know. I am using Front page for the program for the website.

Why not erase it and throw in a couple of before and afters. Use a graphic editing program to tie the images together and jazz it up. A little reading will go a long way on Frontpage and the graphic programs. All of my sites are done in frontpage 2001. Im also a little confused cause Andrews site very closely resembles yours?

Mark's Very Closely Resembles MINE!

Greg my site was done that way first, Mark just called my webmaster the other day and had him add a few things that are similar to mine. I dont mind the only people who will really see both are similar are you guys on BB's we are located in two totally different parts of the country so not likely customers will see this, besides haven't you seen two totally different people with the same exact style Business Card?

similar sites??

Andrew, i have had my site for a few years now, only a few weeks ago did i visit your site and see the water affect and thought that was really cool. As for the rest of the site it has been there for some time now. I did not take offense , and i hope you dont also. In fact if you look at alot of sites they are the same in some ways, Im not saying this too you but if its an issue for some of the other folks, well i dont know what to say but, great minds think alike right andrew??

No offense taken Mark!

No he said he aligned a couple things for you I thought he said he added a couple of things, my bad. Dont worry I wasn't taking offense to any of the responses just stating fact that it would not matter if they were alike they look great as you said " Great Minds Think Alike."

Unfortunately, I have to give credit where credit is due he designed the entire site all I did was provide phots and text.

Oh by the way I saw your sight this evening I really think the photos on the main page look great! Definetly gets the point across what type of work you do compared to the city scape.

Hey you would not believe how many people have called and said they have been playing with that water effect for at least 5-10 minutes while at my site. Whatever keeps them on your site helps chance they will call you.
I definetly dont mind the fact you used the water effect I have a great designer and wanted for everyone else to be as happy with their site as I was thats why I posted to talk to him if you liked it and was interested in something for yourself.

Greg thanks for the advise

well i finally found something to get rid of the skyline, also fixed the stain page, please let me know what you think of the revised site. Thanks again for all your responses
