anybody here of these guys?GUM BUSTERS, there a ducth co. in NY city charging 35sq ft to clean up sidewalks. claim they have the latest technoligy in melting gum in seconds.

I saw them on dirty jobs or something like that on the discovery channel a year ago or so. They use steam cleaners retrofitted with a little brush on the nozzle to dissolve the gum, though in everything I saw of them on the TV, they don't actually claim to clean the side walks, they just go through and remove gum and have clean spots everywhere. Maybe they do go through and ground clean after it is all done.

I saw them on Dirty Jobs last month (probably a rerun) How they do what they do for what they do is beyond me....scrubbing every little piece of gum with something that looked like a Steam Buggy on steroids. I didn't see them cleaning anything other than the spots either on that show.

I think people hire them because they have no idea that gum can be removed safely with a pressure washer. Lot of those business owners probably have had bad experiences with PW companies gouging their storefronts

Dude gum removal is easy buy a 5 degree tip I use a 5 degree 4gpm tip on my whitco with hot water... It works good on cleaning tough vent hoods and filters also.. First use the 5 degree nozzle at 3500 psi 200 degrees hot water remove all the gum , then take your surface cleaner and clean the rest of the concrete.. WAH LAH your done .... Then your driving to the bank... OMG Reba is on now....

Thats what im saying. Its easy but customers (business owners) dont know this. All they see is pressure washers that have busted out the turbo and 0 degree nozzle and signed their name on the piece of gum. If everyone knew that gum could be cleaned just fine with a pressure washer, gum busters would be out of business

Look at Goodway. I believe they sell the machine GB uses. They also sell a gum removal chem to go with it. If you're thinking about something like that it would be much cheaper than going with a franchise. The one thing about GB has that is an advatage over a PW for gum removal is that the machine is small, uses little water and doesn't produce any spray so someone can work on gum removal during the day when places are open and not interfere with business too much.

they use 300 degree steam heat and a secret solvent, i think the solvent is goof off or goo be gone. im not buying a hot box until i figure out which way i wanna go with this, but a lady ask me to clean a building front for her, i didnt do it yet. theres 20 pieces of gum on it. when she wasnt there i tried some goof off after 3 applications and scraping with a dull edged piece of metal on a broom stick it bubbled up and washed of with bottled water

steam heat and goof off,and add gum blasting on your signs, im ordering a hot box. steam and goof off.
