Is the organization online???

I know you wouldn't be referring to my tree stand - which is made of aluminum with seat cushioning - very firm and safe :)

Nah, you have to watch his habits. He posts here, then goes elsewhere and sends a pm to others. I know what (and who) he's gettin' at, but it's lame and just speculation based on the past.

I know who the rats are. Huddled, but semi-publically silenced.

It'll go as far as it needs to.

Personally, If you guys believe anyone telling you anyone sai bad things about you? Your the Fool.....If you both have not figured out that people lie about what he said or she said all the time.

If I really hated all the people that have actually called me cusing me out about what i supposedly said.

Poeple lie and tell lies about others to get a rise and keep people from forming relationships. For what reason other than chemical imbalance i have no idea.

Poeple joke about me calling the people i do but i like speaking to others and talking staright to them. I have found the people who ignore the calls are usally the trouble makers because they do not want to face the truths or rather the lies they have told.

Don, your invited as an expert on this BBS.

I wish success for profits and not for profits as long as they benefit there members first. I pulled this post that I'm about to put here for Information purposes only.
Certifications look good on paper. Customers who have not dealt with a "bad" certified contractor may be swayed by certs. But once they get burned your certifications mean nothing at all to them. Then you have to sell based on your companies reputation for quality service.
I believe that if you pay for membership in an organization that certifies your knowledge, training, etc, that organization has a responsibility to make sure you are living up to your end of the bargain. If you are not providing the quality they expect, your certification should be revoked, and you should be fined if you continue to advertise as a certified contractor.
Just my opinion. But, I would like to know that a certification REALLY means something before I sign up.

Great points Scott. There is another point that many didn't know Including yours truly back in the day but when dealing with Certification besides like you said that whoever is doing the certifying they should also have the responsibility to make sure your living up to your end of the bargain, The Certifying group should most definitely have an insurance policy in place in case someone tries to sue the certifier for damages for whatever reason. This policy alone is not cheap but in the big picture of things its a bargain and also the right thing to do. The price for a policy like this is around $5000 a year.

Also to take this one step further and it probably doesn't belong here but I'll throw it out there anyway an org whether its for profit or not for profit once again insurance is another factor. Every individual that serves on its board needs to have insurance coverage for there positions. There will be for better or worse a person with a possible valid gripe or just a nut job who will look to sue. In the Org that I was involved in we had an insurance policy for each and every member in a position and in that case it was from the President down to the newest board of director. This was a very smart move and once again the right thing to do. We were BONDED.

I don't care if an org...any org...or potential org...or a dream org is profit, non-profit or partially for profit or partially for non-profit, a 1/4 for profit and the rest non-profit, 1/4 non-profit and the other 3/4's for profit...or if the board make up comes from a nonprofit background.......or even if the bank that holds the money for is for profit.......as long as it benefits the industy....

There...that should settle that....

LOL

Whew.... Thank god we now have a guideline to go by.... I laid awake last night looking for the answer... I just should have checked the BBS in the middle of the night and would have fotten my directive.

Carlos, Thanks for clearing this up. But, I was pretty sure my and Celeste's network initiative's are clearly to benifit the industry. (I am sure she will correct me if I am wrong)

What if the Bank holds the money (all 5 dollars of it).... and it is daylight saving time .... in the fall and .....there is a lunar eclipse ...and there are three wise men the consult the board of directiors ...and it still benifits the industry... Is this OK?

Good points for a national org to consider. Another beauty of the localized networks...laws are simpler when you don't have to cover so many. And if the network is simply not "certifiying" that it's "members" are anything more than insured properly.....or offering "certifications", the liability issues are clearly minimalized. Disclaimers & Terms of Service also play a big part.

I couldn't agree more on most of your points, Ron. That being said, the online community has become more and more about popularity contests, cliques and politics. Some have the cajones to call spades spades in any and all environments, whether it be in an open forum, mod forum, on the phone or face to face. Others play the short, fat man (or woman) behind the curtain and pull strings and say certain things certain places but not others. Those are generally the ones that can't face the truth.

At the end of the day it's about my family being happy and my company succeeding, not whoever online likes or dislikes me or my opinions. Take 'em or leave 'em, but I don't straddle fences.

All Seasons Exteriors, Inc. succeeds based on it's own merit and decisions, not everyone else's (online) opinions.

Peace & Happy Holidays!
