Bleach Powder by Delux, Questions Answered Here!

I may be wrong but, the whole "Dry Bleach System" is based on the "Soft Wash System" which is a couple of different tanks, valves and fat boy pumps bolted to a frame. There is another chem (Green Wash) that is added to the Dry Bleach to boost the Dry Bleach's power.

Again, I could be wrong but, I'm not sure the Dry Bleach will work as good without the "Green Wash".

I see a whole page of questions and thank yous, but would you mind answering the questions on the bb. I dont see any answers on this thread. Thank you

my understanding (and correct me if i am wrong) is that you can only get it up to 5% strength when mixed. that would only give you .5% downstreaming at 10:1. some houses you can clean at this ratio and some you cannot. you can xjet it based on the 5% strength but that is not the preference of most. i have asked what type of chemical injector is required to mix the green wash with the mixed product and at what ratio but this question has not been addressed. can you answer AC?

so if you can only get it to 5%, is that making 300 gallons out of the 50lbs? Im assuming it is. I was just trying to figure out how cost effective this is.

Why should product be used with in 30 days after opened. I dont do that many Roofs, and dont know if I would use 50lbs up with in 30 days.

</td></tr></tbody></table>

The powder will loose free chlorine when exposed to air. Resealing between use will help considerably. 30 days is just a conservative estimate. We just want you to be satisfied and have realistic expectations.

This is What I'm trying to ask. Is there any other way to apply powdered bleach besides using 12v pump or diaphram pump ?

Kevin,

The powdered bleach is designed to be mixed into a Bleach solution. It can be sprayed with any sprayer even a pump up sprayer. Just is not strong enough to use in a down stream style injector.

# 10 Sounds like we are all breaking federal law if we use liquid bleach to clean a roof or house, and that's been industry standard for years. Am I reading that wrong.

#4 "Less Damaging to Plants" so a ground guy is still needed or not. Does this mean the plant dies a slower death?

Your killing me Doug........you cant use chems in Houston anyway LOL!

Federal law states that when you buy any product it is against the law to use it against label instructions. Yes you may be breaking the law. However that someone might actually call you on that is minimal. However!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOT states that if you take delivery of a chemical for transport in commerce you must be placarded if the amount of chemical you are carrying is equal or more than that chemicals reportable quantity. Furthermore if you are transporting that chemical for commerce your MSDS sheets should reflect what you are going to use the chemical for. Also if you modify, blend or change that chem you are responsible for creating a new shipping paper for that new proprietary chem or blend as well as a new MSDS sheet that reflects the use of that new solution and its inherent risks etc.

What does this mean for roof cleaners...

Roof cleaners are not just injecting a little bleach through a pressurewasher. You are blending bleach and water with surfactants and other mystery mixes. The end product you are transporting is diffrent from how you purchased it. You are now required by FEDERAL LAW to create new shipping papers that reflect that new product as well as MSDS sheets for that new product. As well you are required to placard your vehicle and or label the new product based upon its unique blend. This is a can of worms that no contractor wants to get into. Delux' products cover these points.......................others dont!

it says 50lbs makes anywhere from 300 to 1000 gallons? If you make 300 gallons out of the 50lb jug, is that equivalent to 100 gallons of 12% SH?

SH is a liquid and will always be stronger at 12% available chlor. Our product is stronger at 72% available chlor but only so much powder will dissolve into water. The strongest avail chlor that can be created is 5% with our product.

Here is an example of how the cost works out.

To make a 50 gallon tank of roof cleaning mix...

Sodium Hypochlorite 12% at $1.50 per gallon. , 25 gallons SH, 25 gallons water, final cost per gallon .75 per gallon cost.
Delux Bleach Powder 72% at $2.98 per pound , 250 ounces BP, 50 gallons water, final cost per gallon, .93 per gallon cost.

Hope this helps!

you say to downstream the green wash with the powdered bleach. what type of downstreamer is needed and at what ratio?

rando

Delux will be offering a conversion kit so you can convert your current tank and 12 volt pump system to use our chemicals. IT WILL BE VALUE PRICED!!!!!

I think pool shock powder is Calcium Hypochlorite? Wonder how easy this stuff mixes up. Mix it with hot water and bam? or are you going to mix and mix and mix.

Very similar to pool shock. Just better! There is no magic here you will get a MSDS when ordering it. We are just trying to make a better product with better alternatives for the SoftWashing contractor. It dissolves just fine as long as you don't over mix it.

Almost spot on Guy. However the Green Wash will augment either SH or BP. Buy yes I wouldn't want to use the BP without GW because of the rinsing aid.

is there anyway we can see a MSDS before ordering it? I know pool shock (calcium hyphochlorite) tends to leave a residue? This doesn't leave a residue? And you can also order 50lb jugs of it for about $100.00.
