On www.powerwashnetwork.com they have a new sponsor that is giving out free subscriptions. The name of this magazine is called Blast Master and it is aimed at the contract cleaner more so then the distributer. It looks like it will make for a good read for the contract cleaner and of course the subscription is free. I signed up today.:) :) :)

I signed up also, can't wait to see what is in this mag !!

My question is who is this magazine indebted to?

Meaning who are the people behind the name, I am sure it is pressure washers we all know, how about the names of the owners?

CEO
Editor
Writers
field interviewers of any
ETC.?

I have nothing against it and I do see what State it is in, many PW companies there, both wholesale and retail so ask them to please say who they are.

Nothing on the web site gives that information.

Hey Jon,

So, you might get a little junk mail............would you even notice more? My recycle bin still amazes me at how much paper is there at the end of each week......

I don't think you need to be so worried, is my point.

Mike

I think that any publication will require its "sponsorship". Heck, we may even advertise in it! As with any trade magazine, time will tell of its' direction and ultimate success. I have talked with Lee before and I'm sure that she and her staff will endeavor to be the most professional in this new magazine. From all of us here at PaveClean, we wish you the best of luck Lee!:D

Excuse me Paul,

Did you say SHE? No offense meant, just was not expecting another female is all.

Let me see now, Kendra, Debi, Lee, Bridget, Kathy,Debra, Shirley,Beth and the list shall grow longer and longer.

I suppose I could name a few more but is it any wonder we don't really have more females as members?

We know they are out there so why don't each of us do what we can to bring them in and make them active members.

Paul I do agree that for any magazine to survive it needs sponsors to help with the cost of running it.

I also agree that in do time it will either grow because it has what we in the business want therefore we subscribe and pay or it folds because it does not offer what we want.

I also feel the price is going to have to go up, I know it cost more then $1.00 to print and mail out, even if done on a home printer and stapled together at first.

Congratulation to John,

Someone has posted a link to another bb to obtain all members the info.

Post the free sign up link too if you can. That’s the way I want to see this bb no restriction. I want others to know that nothing is more important than all have the knowledge.

Bridget post a link to and org. about women owned businesses. that’s helpful to the other ladies in the pw business. I’m please that these posts are starting to become more and more informative.

Maybe other BBS will change too and we will all enjoy the freedom.

WOW WOW WOW I love seeing it happen

jon,

In time we will know who the players are behind the mag.

I don’t think another mag in the pw business will ever offer that much. Keep in mind the sponsors will be retailers trying to sell products. The dollars will roll with what they want, not what we necessarily need.

I do wish the publication good luck and look forward to reading it.

I'm looking forward to the magazine.......

:D

Does anyone still read Blast Master?

Is that the magazine that didn't make it? I think, that I may have been the magazine, that I paid a years subscription and only received one or two. Not sure???

Yea it went by the wayside a while ago. Now Cleaner Times is the only cleaner specific mag that I know of.

Cleaner Times is a good magazine I enjoy reading it.

Cleaner Times is an excellent Magazine that I enjoy reading.

As for the Blastmaster that also was a good magazine and it had alot of excitement when it first started up a few years back. For what ever reason the Blastmaster Magazine couldn't stay afloat. If I had to guess it was probably due to a lack of sponsors and of course membership.

Has anyone noticed that as good as the Cleaner Times has been in the past it just seems to be getting better and better.

I enjoy each issue of Cleaner Times, but I do wish there was a publication geared toward the contract cleaner. PW forums supply an almost endless source of story ideas - non of which are (adequately) covered in CT. Many topics are very visual, which makes for good magazine articles.

As I have said, I believe that this type of mag would be a great idea for PWNA. Most of the advertisers in CT would likely advertise in it, as well as many of the distributors that, other than on pw forums, don't have a direct way to advertise to us. (Sorry, I used to sell magazine advertising.)

John

I mention that idea on the PWNA and several members stated that it was a good idea - I believe Everett stated that he would bring it up at a board meeting - then (I believe) Mike Henderlick (He is President or past or something - not sure) or something like that posted that the PWNA and Cleaner times have had a great relationship and their was no need the PWNA printing its own magazine. After that, basically, it was dead - others backed off on their replies. Sorry, I just read my thread and its kind of crazy - I don't follow who is who too much, so I'm not sure of people's position or names - unless they post a lot.

I used to write for BlastMaster, and was with them for each issue. The history is this:

1. they lasted 6 issues
2. they had plenty of subscribers
3. they had plenty of advertisers
4. the owner, Lee Perkins, had to get out for personal reasons when her business partner became critically ill.
5. no one picked up the publication

That's it in a nutshell.

Thats 100% proof that theirs a demand for that kind of publication as well as current ones. Thats why these boards are so popular - the thirst for knowledge. Knowledge and learning from others experiences equals to money. Money equals to a better life for your family. People have a thirst for knowledge.

Beth,

You should start a magazine. You have all the opportunities to do so.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a subscriber to Cleaner Times and read it from cover to cover every month. I really enjoy it and think that they do a great job. I just have a thirst for knowledge. I love ESPN, but I also enjoy Fox Sports & CNN Sports - I enjoy all the different view points and information.

It is interesting this old thread came back. You know what might work is an e-magazine geared toward the industry. Something with a different slant on it since there are a lot of people on the various bulletin boards who would be potential customers. Maybe someone will run with that idea. I personally stand behind the "Cleaner Times" and recognize them as THE publication and choice for the industry professional.
