Pre-Existing Damage Report

Hi All,

Was wondering if anyone has a "Pre-Existing Damage Report" that they would be able to post or E-mail to me. We are doing residential work now (specifically house washing) and would like to have a form that the customer will sign prior to us doing the work.

I can come up with some potential problem areas to check out with the customer, but i would hate to miss one and have it bite me later.

Have never seen one. If you get your hands on one, would love a copy. Darn good idea....probably not too hard to put one together..... My wheels are spinning already... We have one for deck, but not houses.

Bascially we have what's called a exterior house wash survey listing on our bid sheets. I t lists as follows...

Type of siding: (Vinyl Wood, Brick, Stucco, Aluminum, Other)
Condition: (Mildew, Algae, Stained or Painted. Artillery Fungus)

Than a comments section.

I did put one together for our first house job, just to cover us for what I could think of.

It included the following:

1. Nature of work (House wash, prep for paint)
2. Surface: (stucco, brick, vinyl, wood, dryvit)
3. Areas checked: (windows, doors, gutters, soffit & facia, plants/trees, surrounding area, surface to be washed)

4. existing damage
5. comments

We did a walk through with the customer and customer signed the form at the end of the meeting. the form also contains a short disclaimer waiving any claims by the customer for the areas shown in the damage report.

Customer seemed pleased that we took the time to explain everything in detail and that we took precautions to protect everything including their yard and plants.

Good thing we did this, the customer knew that they had one window and the front door that leaked when it rained. that information was good to know prior to hitting the house with pressurized water !!
