The work of this annual contract consists generally of removing approx. 1,000,000 square feet per year of rubber deposits and approx. 10,000 square feet per year of painted ground markings airport pavement using high-pressure water. This is an annual contract.

This is a very specialized area of pressure washing. If you are not pushing 10k psi, then you will not be able to do it.
 
Thats true Scott, I am only pushing a mere 3600psi at the pump head, but I am interested to know who currently has the job.

The insurance requirement on some runway jobs are high too, the last snow removal site visit in an airport wanted 5 mill general liability.
 
Here the insurance minimum was around 4million many years ago, not sure what it is now.

You would need high pressure plus vacuum recovery because it has to be cleaned up so they can re-stripe and re-coat the areas.

There are specialized machines like the Stripe-Hog that do that and do it quick but you are looking at a truck that is around 400K but you might be able to lock up airports all around because with that truck you can do it faster than anything else out there and be environmentally compliant in all aspects.

It is really cool to watch.

All the airports are around $5 million. It is an easy call to get your agent to upgrade the insurance to the required levels, at least, it is for me, to simply make the call.
 
That is one impressive piece of equipment.

Never did call insurance, because our snow alliance group did not have the equipment required for the snow removal job.

Who is your pressure washing insurance agent Scott?



The stripe hog is awesome.
 
A friend of mine had the Stripe Hog come out to do some stripe removal near one of the border town airports and he told me that they charge a $2500.00 mobilization fee and then $0.50 per linear foot of stripe for removal.

I am sure that there is a job minimum.

My friend told me that they came down and one guy was sleeping in the truck and never woke up, probably the guy driving the truck down there, they probably take turns doing the driving and working.

That is a very cool piece of machinery, and very expensive too.
