2 machines 1 battery

I run two units off one battery but I have a clamp ( similar to jumper cable clamp ) on my smaller engine so after I fire it up I can disconnect it from the battery. I clamp it back to the plastic battery handle. Been running that way since I started my business.

Awesome guys thanks for the tips. Do you disconnect the + or the -?

It is better to just disconnect the charging system which is "overkill", but..
If your system will benefit in reliability from the added charging system..
they can be safely connected "if all is well," ..but.. for the added insurance..
Add-on rectifiers and other devices are available.. we call it BulletProofing.
call me for oiptions.

Always disconnect the positive side

Having a free positive lead hanging around can only add to the risk of fire. Most, if not all pressure washer frames and trailers are earthed and therefore negatively charged.
Do I need to explain this further?

No because he said he attaches it to the handle. But I see your point.

Anytime you work on a machine the first thing you do is unhook the positive battery lead that way you don't have to worry about grounding out the positive side of the battery. Make sense? Do I need to explain this further?
