A Rookie Mistake

I carry an empty wallet. I am certain that I have worked in areas as bad, or worse than any of you in my 20 years in business. I just tell them I dont carry any cash, because I got tapped by the last guy. If they keep after me, I pick up my phone and start letting my fingers do the walking. Usually, they get the message. If someone was to pull a knife, it would be an entirely different story. One of us would not come out alive, and I am sure that I would be going home to my family. (And yes, I can do that)

I believe him, but he don't scare me. :D

I'd make certain about carrying at the mall, it is private property and most permits state that you can carry it anywhere than otherwise prohibited. And by the mall putting up a no concealed weapons sticker makes it "otherwise prohibited". Your only allowed into the mall under the implied consent that your going to follow all of their rules and policy's. If you intentionally enter with the intent NOT to follow their rules shows lack of judgment with intent to break the law and might serve as reason to revoke your permit...I find it hard to believe that you can carry on someone else's private property when they specifically state it's not allowed and it not be a criminal offense and violate the condition of the permit. I don't believe I would want to test that and get hit with a felony and not be allowed to even have a firearm anymore or vote. I would seriously consult an attorney with the DA's office and wouldn't even trust what a police officer said. Most of them don't really know "the law" either. Most just know what there training officer told them and hope the guy pleads guilty. You'd be surprised trust me...Guilty plea's cover up a whole lot of bad policing...

Otherwise prohibited here means by law. In order to be charged with a crime you have to violate one. Posting a sign doesn't make it unlawful. That's why they post a copy of the law or court order on a court house here. Trust me I work with lawyers everyday in my other business. Rules and policies are not laws. NC must have a statute including that.

As I stated I'm talking Indiana. I just looked up NC law and it includes in its criminal code the conditions you speak of. So they made their law include posted private property. Interesting NC also includes banks, parades, restaurants were alcohol is served and funerals as places you can not carry your gun even with a permit. Among others. Not so here. So we are both correct. The reciprocity law would call for me to observe your laws when in your state.

You are also right to not believe it's the truth when you hear it from a cop. Or even one lawyer for that matter. That's why they have huge law libraries. No one person can know it all. When I travel out of state with a firearm I print out a copy of the reciprocity laws with me.

Dude, I am high tech now. I got a motorized wheel chair. I can outrun any step van.

I have up graded since my last post in this thread. .380 that fits in the palm of my hand. and in my pocket as soon as i see someone walk up i stick my hand in my baggy pants/shorts and am already pointing it at him and warn him that he need not come any close and i will not help him at ALL!( I have been practicing shooting from the pocket and can hit good at 15' so far) we are just here doing our job and our boss(me) is an azzhole! we are on a schedule. but we all carry knives and spray. My buddy used to carry a 12ga shotgun on his SC, in pvc pipe holdster for all to see. just to scare the bums. In my areas you can pack if you work at night or are a bizz owner with no permit.:triniti:

This may seem a little silly, but for those of you that don't want to carry a real gun, or can't get a permit, try a bb or pellet gun. Some look very real.

I have this Sig Sauer BB gun strapped to my leg in plain sight with a cammo holster for visibility against my black pants. I put my hand on it when people come up in the middle of the night. Works great. Hey, if they try anything, you won't feel bad about killing them, you'll just laugh your ass off when they scream from 20 bb's stinging the hell out of them.

What I may or may not carry is nobodies business.....and in the end I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

.380 is a great handgun IMO.

However I have always wanted an automatic bb rifle.
Like at the carnival attraction where the goal is to shoot out the red star on the paper.:big_boss:

If your a NY contractor your only option is to heat some rocks and chunk them towards their heads because we all know even the theifs are abiding by the laws and not carrying guns right? Rightttttttttt ...

The same in Chicago. Until recently you couldn't possess a handgun even in your home in Chicago. Only the cops and crooks had handguns. Way more crooks than cops I can assure you.
