Alkota skid specs

I recently got approved for a lease to own program through my local dealer. He only sells Alkota units though. I was looking at the specs of the Alkota units and they seem to be lower than any other brands using the exact same engine and pump setups. Their unit with a 20 hp Honda only gets 3500 psi @ 5 gpm. I believe that is with a TS 2021 pump. 3500x5 /1100= 15.9. Shouldn't you be able to get these kind of specs out of a 16 hp engine? Shouldn't you be able to get around 4000 @ 5.5 with a 20 hp engine? Or at least 3500 @ 5.5? Or is Alkota the only company that is not exaggerating their specs?

Alkota tends to over build the machines more then other manufacturers. That could be the difference in the higher horse power. It could also be because it is a Honda engine, and the true horse power is not really known, but that is what they estimate it at.

The power plant need not work as hard to achieve the specs that they run the machine at, so in theory, the equipment is not run as hard and should last longer if properly taken care of. More than likely, they are ot running the engine at max rpm and the pump at max rpm. If you want to chanve it a little, turn it up so that the engine runs full rpm and that will change the output for the better.

1100 is an unrealistic multiplier for horsepower. You're better off using [(gpm X psi) / 1450] X 1.5.

If your formula is correct, you need 14.54 hp to make 4 @ 4,000.

The manufacturers always have a +/- 5% variance in specs.
So, 95% of 4000 psi is 3800
95% of 4 gpm is 3.8.

Using the divider 1100, it squeaks in at 13.12 hp.

I'm not saying it won't run it, but at maximum power demand and a lot more throttle to do it.

The Alkota is overpowered slightly for longevity.

Alkota is a great machine just get one with a themostate. My friend was talking about his tonight on the way to do some concrete,he claimed it had 30,000 hrs on it lol.Honda got in a bit of a situation when they tested all the engines hp claims a while back.Thats why they went to these model numbers instead of hp numbers.
