Looking at a couple of machines right now and wanted to get everyones opinion. First one is from northern tool it's 3000 psi and 4 gpm for $3499. The other is a package from amazing machinery and it's a package for $3999 with a 4200 psi machine, surface cleaner, chemicals and some other accesories. What do you guys think? Also checking craigslist and eBay for uses machinery. If anybody knows where I can find some better deals/machines lemme know

They're hot machines and cash is kinda limited right now. Looking for a 5gpm machines but the highest I'm finding is 4. Right now need to keep it under 4k so my choices are kinda limited.

Every year the same thing, people settle for the cheap stuff from box stores and then wonder why it breaks down all the time, stays at the store for weeks until they can find someone to fix it and then either sell it for almost nothing or get out of the business.

Not trying to rag on you but if you don't even have the money for a decent machine (no box store junk or toys) then just save up more money or get another part time job so you can get good equipment that will last so you can stay out there making money instead of sitting around waiting for the northern toys to get fixed just to break down again and again and again.

If you didn't understand what I was saying then I will say it again, stay away from the box store junk and toys.

If you can't find anything higher than 4gpm then you are either not looking at the quality vendors that post here or you are looking at the box store junk and toys.
The vendors here have hot water rigs up to and over 8gpm so I am guessing that you are only looking at the toy stores instead of the online vendor stores.

Your choices are not really limited, you are limiting your success by not having enough money to get started right and you will not like what happens. Nobody has enough money in the beginning but you need some quality equipment so that you can stay working, don't settle for the toy store junk, save up more money or do what it takes to get more money and get started the right way.

Success is out there, how bad do you want it? Are you willing to do what it takes to get more money to get good equipment so you can make good money or are you going to settle for the cheapest new toys that you can find at the box store? You can find some good used equipment on ebay, craigslist, newspaper, pawn shops, etc.... start looking and when you find something that you think is a good deal, post it here and we will help you out and let you know if it is a good deal or not.

You can probably find a used hot water machine for about $2500 on up, a small trailer for about $400 to $800 then used surface cleaners, hose reels, tank, etc..... so you are not getting into business for $4000. Don't go and buy the toys at the toy store to try to prove us wrong, you will regret the purchase, end up with junk for equipment and be kicking yourself in the ass in a short time for not listening to pro's that have been there and done that and are trying to help you out if you will listen. It is up to you.

Ok, enough for now. hahahahaha

Besides Craigslist, auctions are another good source.

There's a surplus of good used Machines out there for under $4K. Besides if you have cash, EVERYTHING is negotiable, ya know?

So just try to be patient.

Thanks Doug. Not looking to skimp or get out cheap and definatley not trying to start a business for less than 4k. Just meant my machine budget is 4k. And hopefully this will be my part time hopefully leading to full time job. This is my "I'm tired of 10 years of retail and want the he'll outta this super store and out on my own" plan lol

Espec has a great unit for 2995 whats the hold up great machine good burner system etc. Then you would have an extra 1000 to spend on all the other goodies you need.

I don't care for envirospec, but that is an excellent price on a machine. If I was starting out, I would seriously look at it.

Get yourself a 5.5 gpm hotwater skid and 2 reels 300 gal water tank and a surface cleaner mount it all on a small trailer and away you go.

This is exactly what I did 3 years ago and went the route that Nick suggested. Best advice anywhere! This original setup is making me a lot of money and I am almost ready to buy an 8 gpm setup to be placed right next to my current 5.6 gpm hot water skid.

David so the current rig you are using is similar to the one espec is selling now?Any major trouble out of it.Heck for the price you cant go wrong.I would buy another one if i didnt have a dog to buy.
