Best way of hooking up 9 gallon gas tank to pressure washers?

Hey guys,

trying to maximize space in my box truck and would like to eliminate having several gas cans laying around.

I have a spare 9 gallon gas tank from my boat that I never had to use with primer bulb.

I took off the fittings and slid the 3/8 house over the 1/4 line that leads to my pressure washer...I prime it up and it fills up just fine, I start the machine and it will runs great

I engaged my trigger gun and then after about 2 minutes it runs out of gas and the line is dry, I re prime and it fills back up...then same thing all over again

Is the primer bulb shot? do I need to install the fittings like on a boat to keep the line pressurized (instead of just slipping the one hose into the other like I stated above)?

I would like to T it off and feed to both machines but was just testing it our first, Whats the best way of installing my 9 gallon gas tank to my washer?

Primer bulbs acts like a check valve (in fact it's 2 check valves) and doesn't let fuel flow freely. It works on a boat engine because it has a fuel pump.

Replace the primer bulb with a male to male nylon barb fitting.

So I should ditch the primer bulb and run a hose straight from gas can to pressure washer?

Would I have to raise the gas can high than the pressure washer so gravity does the work or can I mount it to the floor?

Yes and yes, but no more than the current tank. Your current tank is gravity fed too albeit a couple inches above the carb inlet. Any height should work as the carb has a float bowl that will shut off the fuel until it needs more.

I would like to mount it on the floor underneath my washers mount, what would i have to do to make that work?

Like red mentioned if your machine is not equipped with a fuel pump because the tank is gravity feed you will need to add a 12v pump on the system. make sure the pump is rated at a pressure within the engine manufactures specs. I know with kohler they don't want anything over 2psi I believe.
