bugs and the 2 step

Hey folks, I am a truck driver and wash our company trucks on my own time. I am very happy with the soap that I cam currently using, I brush the cabs but not the trailers and they look fantastic when I am finished except for these @#$%@&* bugs, there is almost always some bug residue that I have to go back and scrub. I give them a good pre soak then lay on some extra strong soap and let that soak for a while prior to brushing.

my question is would it make any sense to get a small sprayer that can handle acid, down stream my high ph soap and just hit the bug areas with a two step program?

why not just 2 step the whole truck? because- some of the trucks have polished aluminum and because these trucks shine like they never have when I get done.

A good, non caustic, butyl based degreaser, cut about 1:20 makes a pretty good pretreatment for bug guts.

Thank you Russ I appreciate it, I will give that a try. Hey I may be interested in trying some of that panel bright when I get low on my current supply just to try something different.

are you using hot water?

2 stepping a small area like that won't help too much on the bugs. You are better with an alkaline presoak to loosen them up it will also reduce the chances of damaging the surface from the acid dwelling too long. Softening the bugs up really makes the difference.
