Bypass unloader?

I want to put the unloader on a tee so the water goes past it right out to the gun while spraying. When the gun is closed then the water would go through the unloader. Is this a balanced unloader? Does it have to bypass at full pressure? How could it be done?

With a trapped pressure unloader, the water has to go through the valve. It's the recoil of the water slamming into the piston that throws it in to bypass.
A regulator would do what you want, but would bypass under full pressure.

Interesting, but I would worry about regulating the pressure. I am not sure it would be nearly as effective working that way, if it worked at all.

For Flow! I think it takes a lot to shove the water through the unloader. I cant stand trap unloaders but the hole in the k7 is the size of a pencil lead.


These say designed to mount offline.

the green spring is rated for 21 gpm , have you tried that?

I have looked at the relief in the past I am sure they are much more that a trapped unloader

Nigel I hate trap unloaders, but I think they are less restrictive than flow. A lot of the relief valves were like 30 bucks. The down side is during bypass the engine is working for full pressure.
