I think its a great Video,

Two Problems of Miss-information

They Block the drain after pollution already going down. They make statements like 100% No such claim can be made.

Three I do not think this customer would like this video if there Enviro Dept saw it.

I am not sure about Vancouver as this is where the video is shown, but here in Calgary that video is a $10,000 fine. I called the person in charge of storm sewers and its laws a few weeks ago to ask a few questions. Here you can't even wash down extra dirt into the sewers unless it showed up naturally. If you wash your driveway and some oil comes up from an oil spot you get fined something awful as well. Since all the storm drains go right back into the main river and everybody down stream gets what we put in they are super strict here as well. I have had to turn away customers and turn down jobs as the cost of doing it right and getting caught if I do is not worth the job.

My problem with that video comes down to the hand wash they do at the end. I can't say time for sure, but I know I could not even come close to doing all that work and making very much $$$. Throw in the reclaim costs of equipment and drainage and I would have to charge way more then anybody would want to pay.

Other problem with all those tanks and the truck having a 12,000 lb gwvr you would be overweight if they were all full. I understand when one fills the other empties with reclaim, but if you run into the situation where you had to get water before you got rid of the dirty water you would be in trouble if you were caught.

Thats What I was Thinking

Besides the wrong choice of truck I must say they have a alright setup. I Would take all that stuff off and put it in a 3-ton box truck. Ditch the low pressure crap, and blast those trucks with some good 2-step without the brush. That wash is a one chemical wash with a scrub. If they paid 100$ a truck id dust off the brush. We have hydroflouric here you might wash the truck that delivers it. I wouldnt use hydro on it though, wait till it see's a few more winters then start beating on it.

what kind of trucks do you run?

Thats funny. When we do Frito Lay we have to wash everything on a mat which is a big hassle. Even that isn't 100% due to what drips off of the vehicle when you drive it off, but it's as close as you get.

The first thing this guy did was start washing, then after it was running down he started containment.

In my area of Ontario, Canada there is no law for reclaim as of yet, but that could change in the near future. Also I was told by a chemist that works for a chemical company that Hydroflouric acid mist or fumes is not something that you want any long time exposure to.

I bet that he forgot to put the containment in place once he remembered that the camera was rolling, probably used to just get out there and start washing and if someone is looking then put out the containment, hard for some people to break bad habits.
