Cleaner help

I am new to this board and the whole online thing. I have been pressure washing for about 10 years mostly small fleets, which is my bread and butter and that is starting to change. Some of the companies I work for are cutting cost wherever they can and washing is a cost they are cutting. So I am starting to branch out into flat work and have several small shopping centers, which total about 10,000sq ft of concrete. I have a hot water machine and a 20-inch surface cleaner, which works good for now. I am hoping to pick more work up and if so I will upgrade then. However, I was wondering if some kind of cleaner or presoak would help speed up my production and not hurt the asphalt next to the concrete. Thanks for any help.

Ditto, sometimes a little degreaser if needed..

You dont want to use hot water on Ashfault, u will eat it up. ther are lots of degreasing agents available. but if you must use tempered water dont go very hot. i usually dont even turn my burner on, the chances of damaging the ashfault is too high, save your diesel fuel and your cold water will do the trick. the thing about ashfault is that it does not stay looking fresh and new for very long. but you dont want to leave any dry spots on your work area, as they will stick out like a soar thumb the next day. i do a Novus auto glass parking lot 4 times a season in the summer and that season is only about 6 to 7 months long, it takes me and one of my techs approx 3 hours with our two big guy 26" flat surface cleaners. we run two hotsy 1260's in our bus and we service the store after 6pm, when we are done the flat work we rince the dirt awayand we spray the exterior of the building and clean the windows streak free when done all....total time to complete is 4 hours incl travel time... the next day he has a check waiting for me for 875.00

When you wash smart it pays off..

Please read the post more carefully. He isn't powerwashingthe asphalt. He is worried about chems damaging the asphalt adjacent to the concrete. That is an entirely different scenario. I know that a lot of people like to use degreasers, and such, to clean concrete. I am not a big fan of them, because they can get to the asphalt. I prefer very mild acids. The secret is in the concentrations. One of the biggest mistakes contractors make in cleaning and using chemicals is in how concentrated they are for the cleaning process. Of course, this is just my opinion, and I am just a hack, low baller.
