Im a huge fan of direct mail.. I just recently wrote this manual many will find helpful:

http://shopwindowcleaningresource.com/direct-mail-manual.html

Its free of charge and about 30 pages long including all the paperwork. It really spells out the entire process for sending mail using the drop ship method.

Thanks for sharing the info Chris.

Chris, what books/cd's helped you get started when you started learning about direct mail? I know a lot of it is trial and error and testing but I would like to learn more about this. Any good people you would recommend? PM me if you want.

Thanks.

Christopher I wish there was books on the subject.. well maybe not as more people would be doing it then. I learned really all from trial and error. The manual is a combination of my 10 years of experience doing mailings and a webinar we had at the WCRA on direct mail techniques. I tried to condense everything down to the nitty gritty details.

Yes, I am also a big fan of direct mail. This link is so useful and informative. I have learned many things from this link. Thanks for this nice sharing!!

Post cards and mailers are great if you use them correctly. Most companies just keep sending them and never follow up with phone calls. We send about 40 at a time (so I can keep track and have ample time to follow up) and follow up with phone calls the next week. The week before last we sent out 40 letters, made our follow up calls and landed 3 new contacts with 7 proposals. Its not about how many you send out. Its about targeting and follow ups.
