Dual pumps vs. 2 man Power washers.

One engine running two pumps vs. 2 man Powerwashers which one is better?

I never had a dual pump one engine Powerwasher but I do use Powerwashers with 2 operator setups.. The drawback with those 2 operator setups is when one person for example uses a black tip for rinsing the other operator loses pressure. There is a way to compensate for that I think by putting a chemical injector on each line but I haven't figured out how to do that yet..

But besides using one Powerwasher per man which is what I always liked the best which one of the above is the preferred and has anyone mastered the 2 gun operator Powerwashers out there??

I run two 8gpm machines in each truck. One machine per man. One engine goes out the other guy can keep working. No one sells a machine that is set up for two man operation with the correct engine and pump to match. You would have to build your own. Espec was the closet with a 38horse engine and two pumps but it is 8 horsees under power and who would want to buy from that man anyway? One machine per man is the way to go.

The from espec that i saw had a 40hp kohlor. The only thing i saw as the down fall was that when one man only was operating it the other pump still turned. However if you just kept two men on it at all times it seemed like a good idea.I dont know how many were sold or if there wasnt a big demand for them. Not seeing them in there books anymore.

The other pump would go into bypass so there no problem running two pumps.. I never had a 2 pump machine and I could do it now but where the other pump could go I'm putting in a generator there for the burner.

The two pump setup though did have me interested because of the thought of combining those pumps with that tee valve and then one hose to get twice the amount of GPM with the same PSI from one hose which is what we do now with 2 small Powerwashers.

I kinda like that two pump set-up for large surface cleaning jobs such as parking garages.

On no there would be no problem just saying if you werent using it the pump would still be getting used without making any money would be shortening its life without a cause lol.

Good point. If I had that setup it would have to be used almost all the time. Someone on one of these boards has a diesel engine setup with 3 pumps running off of it.

There also may be a way to set up multiple pumps with some type of clutch involved..
But in my case everything is setup with the KISS method involved. Including my roof setup. You can't get anymore KISS then what that is.. I'll look for a picture of it and start a post with that.
