Blaine, would you try to clean the rust on those wheels or leave them like that? Just curious.

I do not know if customers would pay more to clean the rust so they could paint them or not.

good thinking chris I've never thought of it. Good up sell

I was thinking about something like that, just not sure if they would pay more for that or not.

Personally we wouldn't bother. It would get better the more times we washed it, but if they wanted the wheels to be white, the only way to properly do that would be to sandblast and repaint or the rust will come back thru in a short time. The combination of sand, salt, and liquid deicer rots the wheels and frames quickly if nothing is done about it. This company apparently doesn't seem to care that much, so I doubt they would pay extra.

It's too bad you won't be able to make it to Milwaukee Chris. I was looking forward to meeting you too. I'm trying to see if I can be in Florida in October. Maybe we can exchange pleasantries there....

Maybe you can bring one of your trucks down there, that would be cool. The land of hacks and lowballers, they might copy your truck before you have it parked. hahahahahahaha

Nothing against florida, just repeating what the roof guys and pressure washing guys always talk about.

I forgot who it was that told me that you can throw a rock into a crowd and hit one roof cleaner and 3 pressure washers and 5 painters before the rock hit the ground. Sounds like way over crowded to me.

I know your policy Blaine, just would like to see that truck, maybe someday soon.

LOL Chris, I once counted 27 Pressure Washers in one column of a local mailed out classified ad magazine.
Nice Trailer BTW to the guy in Vancouver, BC, or is it Vancouver, Wash ??
I lived in Seattle for 14 years, MISS the Pacific North West :(

Nice work. Like Blaine said the wheels will get better with time and a stronger mix will clean them up quick. One thing I would do is to be sure to get the caps by the self oilers in the center of the wheels. It makes it easier for the drivers to see the oil level and helps when there is a dot inspection (hides the evidence of leaks).

Vancouver B.C, Canada. The chems were drying so quick we could only wash half a trailer at a time, so it wouoldnt dry.

It's funny you say that Paul. That has always been a big thing for me because I feel that really sets the wheel off as being clean. However, I recently had a fleet manager insist that we not do that to his equipment. He had video footage taken from the rear of the wheel and hub assembly of someone pressure washing by those caps and water was shooting inside the hub thru the red cap. He said that this was the cause of him going thru so many wheel bearings on his equipment. It caused me to be a little more careful when washing wheels now.

We do have a customer in Tampa, so if you're in the area in the future I'm sure I could set something up with him sometime. Us northerners try to escape to a warmer climate like Florida when winter appraches!:D:)

I will be at the Tampa round table, maybe I can go by and meet them and see the truck in use? That would be great.
