Heat and lances.

I have never had an issue with heat affecting the lances, only certain chemicals so you are ok.

Insulated grips make the wands a lot heavier, you could buy them or just put pipe foam insulation on them so they are not that heavy and still insulate from the heat, been doing that for many years now.

Ted, those are bulky and heavy. Plus the handle always falls off. That's been my experience with them.

I agree Chad. But at least the handle is long enough for leverage. Have never had a handle fall off, bet have had them break.

I disagree about using heat through aluminum wands. I have changed out the dual lance wands when they are leaking very badly but I have the same aluminum wand I have been using on the end of the dual lance for many years now, mostly for popping gum with 180 to 220+ heat, it has never broken, warped or bent, the o-rings go out fast with the heat but that is the only issue.

I found out that using aluminum brightener with the aluminum wands weakens them and they snap off at the threads but that is acid, not heat. Mostly Stainless steel wands for truck washing or steel but no aluminum, I save those for house washing or popping gum.

This the one I like. Also, get a Mosmatic swivel.

I agree with you guys, too bulky, the handle falls off but down here the valve rusts out very fast, like within a few months. I stick with the small valve with the black plastic handle, they start leaking after a while but they are great valves, it would be nice if they could be rebuilt with a kit.
