Heat Rise

Hey guys! It's been quite sometime since I have been around here on boards. I have been lerking around on pwi looking for a few answers. I hate too come back and ask a question right away, but I could use some help!

I currently have a 5.5 gpm hot water skid that puts out HOT HOT HOT water. I have never put a temp gauge on it but it melts gum right off of the surface, and the hoses are too hot to touch without gloves.

I need to add another machine like yesterday! I would like to go with an 8 g.p.m. machine! But I want this machine to be HOT HOT HOT!
So my question is heat rise! Do 5.5 gpm machines and 8 gpm machines use the same length and size coil? If so can this be upgraded if bought new? Are the burners bigger and produce more BTU's?

I have worked with a few machines that get Warm but not Hot! I do not want warm!

Thanks in advance for some help here!

Nice too see a lot of the same guys as well as some new ones!
Nice too be back also!

I have a machine that can produce 16 gpm, yet today I had the water running out the end at 300' steam. You can adjust the pressure and or put a smaller nozzle in the end to make the water temp go higher. Most of those guys that just have warm water is because the nozzle is too big for the burner.

Hydro Tek machines get really hot at 8 gpm.

Just found this post from Paul. That's what I was looking for.

Burner sizes will vary based on machine output there are 16" 18" and 20" coils depending on the unit. Regulating the fuel air mixture, burner nozzle size and coil diameter will let us make units that can heat up to 10 gpm quite efficiently about 180-190 degrees without issue. Many can go higher but we do not recommend that for safety reasons.

Had a distributor in Florida tell me one time, "Whatever you do, don't buy a Hydrotek." Lol. I wasn't even asking about a Hydrotek! When I told him I had heard great things about Hydrotek, he said, "Well maybe, but you better hope you never have to work on it!" Lol. The parts do look hard to get to, but I guess if they are that reliable, it doesn't matter too much.
