High GPM hot water systems

So I will say that if a guy was going to attempt this he had better study up on the subject and have someone to call just in case there is trouble. Wouldn't it be a good idea to install some type of relief valve as well Tom?

Relief valves should be automatic. There's really nothing fancy to it though - you need a fuel pressure gauge and a thermometer on the outlet. Then it's trial and error with different fuel pressures/nozzle sizes. Adjust air band for minimum smoke and see what gets the hottest temps. First I would just increase the fuel pressure and see what happens, adjusting the air band for smoke.

I forgot to ask, Mike can you run your setup with a similar nozzle to what you run in your smaller setup with the same PSI and same heat setting and tell us how much extra fuel the bigger burner takes?

I know when I upgraded the setup and the burner from my little hydrotek to my big espec burner my fuel bill doubled when running the same volume and psi.

My burners are daisy chained. The first burner runs constant with the trigger pulled the second one comes on intermittent once the coil is up to temp.

Burner sizes will vary based on machine output there are 16" 18" and 20" coils depending on the unit. Regulating the fuel air mixture, burner nozzle size and coil diameter will let us make units that can heat up to 10 gpm quite efficiently about 180-190 degrees without issue. Many can go higher but we do not recommend that for safety reasons.

Both Landa and Hotsy make machines that large. See attached. You can call your local dealer to see what kind of deals they offer.

The prices on those landa/hotsy are nuts, consider you can get a 890,000 btu burner delivered up to Canada for $3500, kohler 24 hp diesel for $5,000, pump less then a $1000, unloader + hoses $300, inverter to run the 120v burner, $1000.

These numbers are all high, ie you should be able to do 10-20% cheaper and its still half of what those other ones were listed for.
