Hot box exhaust pipe

Is there any problems regarding rainwater getting into the hot box through the exhaust pipe on the burner?

I'm currently running my rig inside an enclosed trailer. I run the exhaust through an extension over the roof of the trailer and got a cover over this to prevent rain from getting into the heater or inside the trailer.

The lack of work space inside this enclosed trailer makes me want to build the next rigs on open trailers. Its easier to get to the plumbing/tank etc. The biggest con with using open trailers i believe is rain getting to the equipment. Storing it dry is a must.

A vertical burner will suffer more from heavy rain than a horizontal, because the water drips right down in to the burner. A rain cap will keep it pretty dry when it's standing still, but rain will still blow in while driving.

Russ, can a regular roof chimney cap work on a vertical machine? Something with just 2-3 inches of open space before the cap top or does it need more air flow?
