How much pump oil.

I changed my pump oil after 225hours. Not sure if it was time or not but I was changing the oil anyway so I drained the pump a GP TS1021. Very little oil came out. The dipstick isn't much help to me I can't figure where the fill line is. Anyway I have 15 oz in there now. Trying to figure how much more if any to add

Thank you I saw the spec sheet but didn't know whether to believe it. Where is the visual indicator ? Also what is the intervals everyone is changing pump oil?

thanks for the replies,,I added oil to equal 40 ounces. If there is a sight window on my pump its not visible. I know 40 ounces did not come out when I drained it,,much much less, oh well see how it runs this week
 
If the pump oil is not warm, it will take a long time to drain, if it is cold, go and do some errands and it might finally be finished.

Mine came with a small diameter hose for draining and it can take 30 minutes to an hour or more depending on if it is warm or cold.

A lot of pumps come with caps with dipsticks with level indicators, check if your pump has this.

I was unsure also Jeff so, I called one of the top vendors we all use and he recommended fill to dot only. Before that I was filling above the line and I was getting a small amount of pump oil on top of the pump when it ran long hours.

So that's why I have that little bit of residue of oil around the filler cap,...maybe I will pull a little out with the oil vac thingy I have.

Charlie,

As far as the oil changing frequency, GP recommends a change at 500 hrs or 3 months if I remember correctly.

I change mine at 50 hrs when I do the engine oil and filter. ( GX 690 requires change at 100 hrs and filter at 200 hrs). I'm sure most of you will think that is overkill but having worked many years as a mechanic it's just cheap insurance for me. I also use Honda engine oil and GP pump oil.

On my TS2021 that 40.6 oz does fill it about perfectly with the dot.
