Dear Members,

Your next IWCA Board of Directors will face some of the greatest challenges in IWCA history. Decisions will directly affect companies like yours on issues of safety, standards, regulations and glass.

The IWCA needs a strong Board that answers to IWCA members like you, and who resists pressure from special interest groups, such as; manufacturers of scaffolds, anchors, glass or other special interests.

A Board that works to avoid conflicts of interest.

We believe the IWCA needs leaders like Jeff Scott.

Since his election to the board, Jeff Scott has taken stands against special interests and closed meetings. He has worked for transparency and fiscal responsibility.

Jeff has proven himself to be a responsible, reasonable and accessible leader.

Jeff is a 2nd generation window cleaner who worked his way thru college cleaning windows. . Jeff proudly and honorably served his country in the US Navy Reserves. Jeff now owns Green Window Cleaning, a company with five employees and three trucks, servicing high end homes around Madison Wisconsin, and multi-story commercial buildings throughout the Mid-West..

Jeff attended his first IWCA convention as a youth in 1994. Jeff was elected to the IWCA Board of Directors in 2011, He co-chairs the Industry Relations Committee, and was appointed to the Executive Committee for 2012. Jeff has attained SPRAT and IRATA level II Rope Access Certifications, and works as a volunteer self-rescue trainer for the IWCA safety program.

Now Jeff Scott is running for IWCA Secretary; he will need your vote to carry on this work. Your official ballot was mailed today by IWCA headquarters; look for it.

Please be ready to vote when your ballot arrives - Jeffrey Scott for IWCA Secretary.

To be sure your vote for Jeff is counted, follow voting instructions carefully!

Sincerely;

Jeffrey Scott (current BOD)

A little window cleaning News

There is some uncertainty as to whether the IWCA mailed ballots yesterday - but the election is on, so watch for your ballot.
Jeff Scott is one of the candidates for Secretary - for reasons stated above.
Theresa Martin is now a write-in candidate for Treasurer - running on essentially the same platform.

IWCA ballots are out, and I just voted.

I'm asking other IWCA members to vote - but NOT to vote for one candidate - Chris Lambrinides - who regularly calls for the death of competion.
(Via the "Dinosaurs must die" slogan he has been using for well nearly 2 years - which refers to the other window cleaning suppliers and the Window Cleaning Network.)

I hope you understand why I couldn't vote for the guy. But there have always been a few people on the IWCA board who can't stand me - and if he wins, more won't hurt me.
And I'm not worried he's going to put any of his supply competitors out of business - it's just really unfortunate to bring this into the IWCA.

When you vote, please remember that IWCA depends mightily on "Dinosaurs" - primarily Associate members who over the years have probably contibuted over $2,000,000 (my estimate) to the IWCA via IWCA memberships, convention sponsorships and trade show booth purchases. It would be pretty hard to replace that kind of support.

If you agree please take a few minutes to vote today and pass the word to any IWCA members you know.

Thanks,

Gar

I do a Search on IWCA voting and this Shows up , whats this Gary Old?

Gary how was Jim Reputaion within the IWCA? I loved working with him when we both served with the PWNA. When he left the treasurer position that's how I became that title with the PWNA. That was a high as I got there but when my 3 yr term was completed I never went back in as a BOD again.

For a second there I thought that was your answer..lol. My bad. Jim Grady. He was what I referred to back in the day as a shining star. He would go on stage and have the crowd laughing and listening like he had big time experience talking to crowds. In the board room he was as calm as can be who would listen intently and he gave very thought out responses. In one year he went from a newly elected PWNA BOD to Treasurer.

What do you remember about him and was he a shining star in the IWCA as well at one time?

He did OK. I ran against him for IWCA Secretary once and lost by 3 votes.
He went on to be President - that would be shining star - and you should see him now with his head shaved.
(Shinier still.)
