hi guys, i just quoted a car dealership and have done some reading on this topic but i still have a couple of questions. i wasnt planning on doing any fleet work to start but when it falls into your lap.....

that being said....when doing a dealership, do u have to have a water reclaimation system or can you just wash and go? they didnt ask me if i was re claiming the water. is it madatory to reclaim the water?

also what kind of soap do u recomend that will leave a nice shine? maybe a wax mixed with the soap? they are regular cars to be washed once a week.....something that doesnt leave to many streaks when drying and easy on windows as well.........any special formulas? feel free to private message me

Out here car dealerships get washed for .75 - $1.00 per car.

No soap, No Wax. They cant pay for that weekly.

Just Wet & Shammy. You have to move quick. 1 guy on the gun and 2 - 3 with shammys coming behind you.

I get $1.25 a car here in oregon. We use di water so we dont have to dry them. its hard to make money when you have to dry the cars off

I wash fleets but not car dealerships.
BUT....... How in the world can you possibly qoute a job without knowing what to do. You are not the first but I've seen questions like this before and it blows my mind.

DONT YOU HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE? when a job falls in your lap and you know what other people charge...you charge accordingly... if you know how to wash a house, you know how to do a deck, you know how to do the basics, why not cars too? you do research, you practice on what you own and you ask for advice from people who have done it and are willing to share. When the time comes that i am full of the knowledge that most of you are filled with it will be my turn to share my expertise. Isnt that how this is supposed to work?????

i want to thank the 6 guys who sent me private emails explaning what they do, and some of the tip they gave me. i tried it out on my car and my wifes and they look very good. thanks alot. Thats why i joined this site. to learn from others and then to help others

i hope that answers your question

Yes you have to start somewhere. But ask the questions you asked BEFORE you give a qoute!!
What if they take your bid and you get royally screwed on the job ie. it takes twice as long as you planned. Its harder to raise your price the next time you go there than it is to plan ahead price right the first time.
Just trying to give some advice from our experiences in the past.
