Machine seems to be stressed with longer hose

I have a 4 gpm, 13hp, 4000 psi direct drive machine. I hooked up a new 200ft 3/8 in id hose and the machine started to struggle making a reving noise. I cut it back to a 100ft noise persisted. Machine oil and pump oil fine with great water pressure from the home. When running the surface cleaner the noise stopped. I assume this is because the machine didn't have to work as hard to put out the water. Is there anything I can do to allow this machine to work on hose greater than 50ft without blowing anything up?

Assuming you have a #4.0 nozzle on the wand (that is NOT partially clogged),
back-off the unloader just a tad..
..until you can get those valves adjusted in the motor.
Hopefully, you already have a pressure gauge on there so you can accurately monitor the machine.

BTW.. your surface cleaner nozzles are the wrong size (too big),
or they are worn out.. getcha some #2's
..after you fix the horsepower problem.

anyone else reading this thread.. remember..
when you buy a new hose, flush it out, before you put a nozzle on your wand,
just so you don't get a piece of rubber stuck in your nozzle.. it's REALLY hard to dig it out.
