Made my first flare fitting

I have never liked the burner fuel lines being hose, with all the heat etc in the area, and then I had them fall onto the pulley and get gnawed! - lost heat and found a smokey mess with diesel spraying around the engine and muffler - NO fire thank the Lord. So I replaced the lines with copper and flare fittings, still have a small length of hose right at the tank which I think helps to have some play

Good job Tom.

Those flares can be tricky sometimes with copper, sometimes they split where you are making the flare so you have to cut that off and try again. I eventually got good at them years ago working on cars.

I am sure that line will last longer than the machine.

That is actually a very good idea and makes the unit a lot safer.

I did split one Chris, but it was fun making them, the flare fit seems pretty solid and it's tried and true. I feel 100% better with the metal fuel lines.
