As you can see, there's now a forum dedicated specifically to roof cleaning. It will now be easier to obtain and/or provide information for all facets of this part of the industry without the need to scan through the pressure washing forums for the same information.

Welcome! :)

I would like to welcome and thank Don Phelps for moderating this new forum.

Don I haven't sold it yet! The price is $599,000.00 My realtor states he has been called by two people that want to look at it but they have came by yet. Hopefully someone makes me an offer soon so I can start my business. I am getting bored working around the house. I was down in the Keys over the weekend to clean up the yard and make sure the house was squared away. Also as soon as I sell it Don I will be getting with you for some equipment and how to information. If you know any buyers looking to move to the Keys send them my way. Hugh

New To The World Of Pw

OK, I am new to all this PW business. I wish I had found this site before buying my equipment. I am trying to start a Part Time PW business (evenings and weekends). I have a cold water system = Mi-T-M 5000 PSI and 4gpm, turbo nozzle, 24 ft telescopic wand 2 hoses 50ft and 100ft. I want to start out with residential houses roofs and driveways. I would like to know what chemicals to use for roofs and what are the step by step procedures to cleaning a tile/shingle roof. I need to know the same for the house and driveways but I know this is a roof forum. Is it possible to include pictures and links on the equipment/chemicals used? For anyone based in....is it necessary to have a license for this type of business?

Hi and welcome!

Feel free to give me a call at your convenience and I'll be glad to discuss all facets of roof cleaning with you. There are some differences between the way tile and shingle roofs are cleaned. In Orlando, we're required to have an occupational license. I would think it's the same in Miami.

Roof information

Don this question is for you! What would you use to clean a Metal roof? I have read where some have used truck wash with wax in there mixture, but I want the suggestion from the roof guru! Thanks Hugh

Roof Mix

Russ I thought maybe the regular house wash mix with chlorine in it might rust the screws holding the panels after awhile. You haven't had that problem? I saw one of your projects where you did clean a metal roof. I guess it was pretty easy huh? Hugh
