And what do i do next?So far i've submitted the following proposals and gotten no reply.Auto car wash - 13,000 sq ft @ 0.12 Apartment complex - aprox 9,000 sq ft @ 0.15Auto parts store - apox 3,200 sq ft @ 0.10I'm kinda wondering if i'm too high. Or am i close and just needing to be persisntant and follow up? I havve no idea what the market will bare becuse the hand full of guys around are all fleetwash &the HEC guys and none of them are very forth comming with any advice. And understanably so.Another thing is i see chain stores/restaurants all the time that i could bid but i have no idea who to aproach. Most Managers drop your card in their pocket, on thier desk or in the trash and forget about it right after you walk out the door. I know of one waffel house thats in bad need of some tlc...but got next oo nothing from the manager. I just dont know what to do next.

Can't argue with Nick's advice - he's been been in the industry for long enough (long before we had the benefit of forums like these!)

The principles remain the same.

I'd add that you need to know YOUR price to enable you to turn a profit and grow your business. If your price is higher and you can't afford to lower it to secure work, you need to look at how efficient your systems are (equipment and business) to enable you to work faster, smarter and close more sales.

I know you want to know price - but without seeing the nature of the jobs and/or your equipment it's difficult to pinpoint. Compared to our pricing, I would say you are on the high side - but our setup and approach would allow us to make the profit we want on the jobs as simply stated.

I think this property manager uses me as a dummy bidder. Every time his email reads like "the board decided to use someone else" and the reason is always that the other bid was slightly lower. Sometimes the person who takes the bid already has somone in their pocket.

That happens alot , but you can weed them out quickly.

Lee, just ask the property managers why they didn't go with you, who they went with, and how was your price. Problem solved.

Hey Lee. I see you are from montgomery as well.. Commercial is a hard market around here. Although I do have relationships with most fast food, auto parts stores, and a lot property managers most of them call the com[any that they are loyal too when they need the work done! Sucks yes but that's just the way it is around here. Also just a hint.. Waffle House doesn't usually clean around here unless it's a special event. The district manager told me face to face after seing a live demo "Clean side walks at Waffle House is just not a priority" Good luck

@ Doug, the car wash & the apartment complex were requested. The apartments were becuse my best freind asked me to do the concrete cleaning in front off his apt. And once the manager COULD SEE the diferance she asked for a quote since the owners are comming in soon to view the property. They just had the asphalt redone & striped last week so i should hear from her soon on that. The car wash was after it broke the wiper on my car and the manager had to fix it. We got tontalking and he asked for a quote. Went out and messured the next day.@ Travis, yeah we gota get together soon. You pick the restraunt and i'll pick up the check for lunch. Any wed is good for me. Just let me know. I'm working on something that i'm probably going to need some help with if i can land it.
