Plumbing and tank question

Ok guys, so im getting ready to set up my first flat bad. Ill be running an 8gpm hot water skid and a 4.5 gpm cold water unit along with the obvious stuff; hose reels, etc.. I'm trying to decide whether to put a 550 gal leg tank or 2 275gal totes What im wondering is has anyone ever plumbed 2 totes together to equal 550? The only reason is I can get a great deal on the 275ers, but sometimes need more water than just 1 . This may be a stupid idea and not worth the time but it was just a thought. IMO theyd have to be hooked together by a separate bulkhead so they could fill at the same time when needed and a ball valve for jobs when I use less water. Is it worth trying or should I just go with the leg tank and be done with it? Flame away boys.

If its a flatbed truck I would use a single 325 gal leg tank if your truck is a 3500 or f350 or bigger. One tank less problems.Just my opinion.

1 ton dually or single wheel? Check your payload before you make any tank decisions, and decide if you are carrying water. Water is heavy, my 2005 dually dodge with a quad cab only has a payload of 4500 lbs, don't expect your chevy if its a dually to have much more. 525 gallon tank will put you well over, remember payload on a chevy does not include any fluids (oil/trans/gas), radio, spare tire, or the weight of you.

I have a 325g tank and a very light pressure washer setup and with all the fuel tanks full and me sitting in the truck I am within 600 lbs of my max payload. Just giving you a heads up to not think way bigger then your truck can handle.
