Problems with air after filter

Hi! As the title says, I have problems with alot of air in the water after my filter. Just finished hooking up a 8 GPM machine to my tank. Cant run it for long, its just to much air. I use clear hoses to dual feed the pump, so I can see that there is no air in the water before the filter. The filter is 5" with a 1" threaded inlet/outlet. I use the yellow hose to prime the pump and drain the tank. On the end of that yellow hose sits a plastic quick connect that is closed when not connected (gardena). Is the vacuum created by the machine strong enough to pull air in through that connection? Its a belt driven pump.

Thanks Jeff! It was the suspected gardena quick connect. It let through alot of air. I'll replace it with a metal ball valve, that should not let air through.

My first run with 8 GPM. Really like the cleaning power! Going to speed up my exterior cleaning a lot.

Seems to me there are too many ball valves on the inlet. Looks like a lot of restriction.

Are they really a restrction when they are open? Its a 1" opening in there as well. I did a test in a 5 gallon bucket with no nozzle on, got 9,4 GPM (36 litre) actually.

The ball valves should not be a restriction, although the more connections that need to be made the more chances of leaks and problems. Simple means less problems and easier trouble shooting.

Take the ball valve from before the filter and put in on the yellow hose line. It is useless where it sits and will save you buying anther valve. Also you can take that shut off valve located up the line and put it at the same tee and save on hose and unneeded connections.

I custom run all my machines and have run and redone many feed lines. I have done really complicated, and always ended up changing it to make it simple as simple always works best.

Its a 1" valve. The yellow hose line is 3/4". I placed the ball valves next to the filter so that I get less water inside the trailer when it need cleaning.

After I found the reason for air getting into the system, everything runs great.
