Pump Recycling

Alternators, motors, and all sorts of other things get recycled/rebuilt.

Is there are market for doing this with pumps?

I know I just don't have the time to really mess with rebuilding pumps.

Is the following possible? Or Feasable?

Say one of you guys have a shop and you are able to quickly repair and test pumps then put them back out on the market.

My pump breaks down.
I send you the pump (how much does it cost to ship one of these things anyway?)
You give me $100(???) off a new (at $500 or so) or reconditioned pump. (At $300-400???)
You fix the pump and stock it for resale.

I'm just thinking, I just would rather keep spares in stock and send out the old ones instead of having them clog up my space as I procrastinate on fixing them.

Box them up and send them to me. I'll rebuild them and send them back. There are just too many makes and models of pumps to even come close to stocking a recon of everything. And who knows how long a fresh recon will sit on the shelf until someone needs that particular model. That's tying money up collecting dust on the shelf.

When I remove a pump from a machine for whatever reason, I save the pistons, scrap the yellow brass, and pitch the rest. When I first started, I'd save crankshafts and connecting rods as sets. Never found anyone to buy them.
