Ok so i used the search on this site i have been all over the internet but i still have questions. I need to get a reclaim system set up for my start up. I have seen the shop vac set up used by a few but would like some more feed back. I do not have the room on my trailer to have a tank for reclaim. I will be doing only flat work at first. There is one on ebay and here is the link

will this hold up for washing driveways and being left on for hours at a time? Cash is a little tight so I can not go for top of the line right now. Thank you in advance for your for any advise and thank you for your time. :help:

The vacuum will not last. They do not have the duty cycle that is needed for recovery. It mightnlast an hour, tops. Just my experience.

Thanks Scott thats what in needed. So is there anything around that price range that would get me up and going?

That is really not that cheap. I would talk to Jerry at Sirocco to see what he could hook you up with. I do think it is intereting that they are using home depot model vacuums for what they are doing.

Tony Shelton got a vacuum from Lowe's (made by shop vac but has the Lowe's name on it) and it does have the pump out feature on it and I think that it sells for under $250.00, I don't know what that company is doing (if anything) to justify the tripling of the price over buying it at the store.

I don't think he uses it for hours and hours but it might work good for intermittent work.

With the vacuberm that Jerry at Sirocco sells, it should work good with a good size shop vac (he made them so that they would work with shop vacs) as long as the shop vac will pump out.

When Tony is working, I think his system is about 5gpm and the vacuum keeps up with him but again, I don't think that he is working that long before he turns off the vacuum system.

Jerry at Sirocco has some electric systems that will do the job but I don't know how much they cost but they should have the duty cycle that you need so you might be able to work for hours on end, give Jerry a call to make sure.

The electric systems cost a lot less than the gas powered systems but you will need at least a 5000 or 6000 watt generator (electricity for the electric vacuum motors and the electric pump inside the system) on your trailer for the electric system to work.

Don't rely on electric outlets at the facilities as this system will pull too many amps and some places have a lot of outlets on 15 or 20 amp breakers and you will be tripping breakers if you can even find outlets.

Figure on spending $2000 to $2500 to get something running that will work, be dependable and last a while, again I am not sure of what Jerry is selling the electric systems for but I am guessing.

If you can make it to the Wisconsin event this next week, Jerry will be there and there will be some great info on reclaiming and some demo's on vacuum equipment and you can see what is available and get some good ideas on making something that should fit in your budget and on your trailer.

We have some extra specials going on this month with the Sirocco systems. With the discounts and rebate they are $400 off. If you come to Milwaukee and purchse before April 30,2011 I will also apply $75.00 of the attendance fee toward the purchase.
