Replacing thermostat

Ive been trying to change the thermostat on my hydrotek unit but I cant get the bushing out the thermostat probe screws into. The probe has diffrent threads then the general thermostate has. The bushing is stuck in the hex manifold. Its like its welding together! Wont budge a bit. Anyone ever come across this problem?

Have you tried a portable torch (like plumbers use) to heat it up and then try and loosen it?

6 point socket on a breaker bar. If the thermostat is no good, cut the brass tube close to the nut and put the nut back in the hole. It'll keep the brass bushing from trying to egg shape when you torque on it.

Yep a long pipe on the bar usually does the trick.
