Separate Insurance Providers?

hey folks

got a query... hope someone can shed some light.

I am going with General Liability and Trailer equipment coverage with Joe Walters, but I am looking at another provider for commercial auto for the truck.

Are there any potential problems having separate providers on the truck and trailer/equipment? If I was to be involved in an accident on the road or needed to make a claim would it be a headache dealing with 2 companies, or is it purely dependent on which item is damaged (truck or trailer)?

Does anyone else have separate providers, any feedback on how this works for you?

I have a seperate auto policy.

My liabilty is through Travelers insurance and is very inexpensive.

I have the same policy, I like dealing with local companys for ins. They have my homes and other propertys. Shop office and toys.

Called J Walters and told them exactly what I did and got a quote of $2600.00 a year... Since the big Cancellation of my policy due to the fact that Nationwide no longer wants to cover my TYPE of Pressure washing.. I have been turned down by 19 Insurance companies in the past week..So here we go.. I would like to also state the sheer Ignorance of some insurance companies as I am going to quote the asking me if " DO YOU CLEAN THE ANSUL SYSTEM"" Oh please (READ A BOOK ) I have tried many times to explain that an ANSUL system is a name brand of fire suppression and that I have been doing this typr of work since 1989.. Someone Somewhere needs to educate the insurance companies. AS far as not offering a business insurance when it pertains to running and operating your own business in my opinion is a mis-justice and a direct violation of the Constitution.. By judging a man or business based solely on what he does for a living and not offering him an opportunity to purse the right of having his own business should be against the law and discriminatory

I ended up getting Gen. Liability and equipment coverage with J Walters for $1,138 and am going through a local broker for commercial auto - nearly half the price of what I was paying with PROGRESSIVE!!

I do have high risk drivers on a separate policy, have had good employees that cant drive all trucks do to violations. They are designated to that specific vehicle
