Time Clock System

We use a standard clock and time cards. Archaic, but it is simple, and works.

I only care about job check-in and check-out. Considering all clockspot does its track time...it seems a bit pricey. I use ServiceM8 and it has a job check-in and check-out feature on the iphone app. We moved to ServiceM8 in May and it has saved ton's of time managing the business. You only pay for what you use....first 20 customer entries each month are free and the next 80 cost .50 cents ea.

At first I only entered work orders so I could keep the cost down. As I got addicted to not having to remember every detail and the time I spent excel/outlook/etc making and tracking quotes I realized it was well worth the cost.....plus I could access it all from the iphone. I love the GPS and "navigate to job"....I used to print out maps and there was always the problem finding the house....more wasted time.

Sorry Android users....only work with iphone/ipad/pod

I know there are better and more powerful CMS software out there. For my business volume and budget, SM8 fits perfect.
 
Our whole team is on "commission" now (or percentage)! It has made a huge difference in so many aspects! Each job has a budgeted time allotment and that dictates the pay for anyone on the team working it. Foremen keep limited actual time info to ensure we don't have any minimum wage and overtime issues, but we have a whole pay period to make up for a poorly timed job (and we have never gotten close to minimum wage) and we are only at risk for overtime issues two or three weeks a year. It has lifted a lot of stress for me, and we know exactly what payroll will be on a job to job basis. Friday is payday for us and the 15th is a cutoff. While that is cutting it close for actual data, I will have payroll completed by lunch tomorrow including pay for 2 jobs to be complete tomorrow night! Checks will be ready and waiting when we get back early Friday in the am.
