I didn't. I don't know if Robert did or not. My guess is no. I didn't see any regulators at the PWNA convention and I took there Enviromental class.John did robert or yourself talk with any regulators in the orlando area while the pwna convention here.
But Tony didn't you talk to regulators yourself already?
The above would be to bring the regulators to us so we can talk to them in a group setting, so many people can ask questions that concerns them. With this idea what don't you like about it?
.. .. .. .. .. ..
I don't need to tiptoe around these guys and am actually learning, from them, what the personalities of the regulators surrounding my area are. They are educating me on which jurisdictions are difficult to work with and letting me know who makes the decisions and what the best manner to approach them is. This comes from building an honest relationship that is based on mutual trust and the idea that we both know that both sides of the table just want to do what is best for the environment while continuing to make a living.
My travels around the west were more to get a feel for what the atmosphere is. I didn't try to sway them from what they were doing, but you can bet I never once conceded that we were polluting at all. I went into each one of them introducing myself as a cleaner who is trying to accomplish the same goals they are.
I don't believe the Jim part because that's a bash but the rest of your story-- very cool. Hopefully I found out soon enough what goes on in these guys minds like you have instead of taking the Internet babble as being Gospel and nothing but a sales pitch to sway others.John, the only reason I even needed to talk to regulators in my area was to prepare them for any foolish talk that Jim planned on bringing out prior to his event. They are well aware of the fear mongers and profiteers who are constantly trying to sell things to them and to contractors and they are prepared to listen to anything Jim brings with a straight face and promise not to laugh unless they just can't help themselves.
Through this exercise I found out that the regulators here are a great bunch of smart guys who just want to do the right thing. They can't stand the crookedness that goes on in the environmental world.

For you I'm happy to hear that you didn't buy into that either so you went out on your own dime to find out. I plan on doing the same but hopefully in a group format so what I say is built on fact and not.....fiction.
Where are the UAMCC BMP's? How about posting them in a new thread so we all can converse on them and how they came about. Are you allowed to post them or do we have to sign up with a UAMCC membership? Not a bash John, survival instinct. We have great Bmps here that are less restrictive than the pwna's. Mine was a preemptive strike that couldn't have worked out better

And I'm not saying yours is fiction because I heard from reputable sources that you did indeed go out to find answers.
The fiction part when guys say they did stuff and it can not be verified anywhere.
The old line "If you can't baffle them with brilliance then befuddle them with bullshit" people who were trained to look for this can spot it a mile away..

I agree wholeheartedly. But we need to have a planned course of action to take when we come up on their radar.

Excellent Robert and thanks for the input. I say compromise and unite because it's the wise thing to do.Tony:
We are already on the radar, there was a major meeting of AHJs today. About 30% of the time was spent on our industry. The major topic was revision all of the BMPs and making them stronger.
Enforcement ranges from warning to throwing the book at you the first time. Depends on who show up on the first offense.
These guys are the brightest and know their business. It is going to happen with or without our input. Congress has authorized increase clean up of the nation's waters, and they are in charge of doing it. These guys are at the top of the food chain, and we are the food!
They will not accept discharging our waste water into Storm Water BMPs as a general rule. They said that they would come in autonomously and make one post. Tell you how it is, they will not be drawn into a debate.
We have a choice, compromise and unite or fight among ourselves. The choice is yours.
Reputable sources. Funny. I said it. For people who know me that would be a reputable source on its own.
