Trailer.. VS.. Flat Bed.....

Very Nice. Extra Large Scrubber!

LOL!!!

Personally, I think it depends on what type of job you are doing. I would not dream of having a trailer that was taller then the top of my truck. I also would not want the heaters to be up that high. Most of my units are flatbeds, though. I like them because of the type of work they are used for, they look better, and are for more efficient.

Streamlined.

I am not a trailer fan by any means, although they have their uses and are a lot cheaper to put on the road. I have an 05 dually with an 8 ft box, held a 270 imp gallon tank, custom pressure washer with burner and hose reels. Worked great until the engine blew unexpectedly, guess what the engine costs vs the trailer. I was in a parkade today and had to turn around with just a middle and stalls on both sides. Short area, but I only have a 12ft trailer, and the tow vehicle was an 08 jeep GC diesel. I had no problems with the turn, although if I had my 05 with the quadcab and long box towing it would have been a lot more interesting.

Like was mentioned before, you have to see what's going to fit your needs and budget at the time. Trailers are cheaper up front, less insurance, less maintenance, and easier to setup. The trucks are easier for employees to drive, can get into tighter spaces easier, and require a smaller foot print at the shop. I know you need something to pull the trailer, but that can be cheap, or it can be expensive, depends on your trailer and what you need for a vehicle.

I switched from a trailer to a box truck almost a year ago and I gotta say I love it, it's one of my best selling features when I pull up to a job. I am looking to getting a flat bed truck next summer.

Its just a lot less hassle all the way around with a flatbed

Currently I'm trailering with a 4gm hot water unit. I think it would be best to upgrade the power washer before the carrier... Right? The equipment makes the money, not the carrier...

I think my next move will be to a flatbed and then keep my trailer for my water recovery unit. The only thing I am concerned with is if something happens to the truck while I've got a full schedule. That would be quite the hassle trying to break everything down and set it up on another truck or trailer. The only way I know to try and streamline that is to build everything onto a removable skid that can be pulled off with a forklift in one shot. Anyone ever do this? I would love to see some pictures if so.

You will pick up so much time working off of a flat bed that a day or two here and there not working will not be a problem.

Very nice Guy!

I have the same kind of box, great idea with the added doors, will help a lot with getting rid of heat.

I know you will make a lot of money with that truck, please keep posting pictures of you building everything.

That truck is very nice Tony.

Glad that reel helps.
