tsf-2021

I have a tsf-2021 8gpm pressure pro

the pump is now leaking water where the head meets the pump, It has been running fine lately untill last night. We noticed this and decided to remove the head. We looked everything over and re-assembled. Nothing looked bad inside the pump, however the oil is full of water now as well. Could this be the packings?

I think I ahve answered my own question via the search function.

HMMM ponder that, I have been around here a while now and still that infamous search button seems to be forgotten

Ya but it doesn't hurt t bring up old subjects now and then.

Yes the packings are worn or one of the seals on the pistons has failed. Water is working past the head on to the connecting rods and small drops of water are being pulled back through the oil seals into the crankcase.

Change your seals and oil and you should be OK.

again this has happened with only changing out packings a month and a half ago. I have been through 5 sets of packings on this pump in under 2 years. I may need to check into other problems causing this. Spike pressure is around 3600

Chris, double check the pistons for cracks. You may also need to check the o ring on the piston bolt.

Chris do the packings look chewed up every time? Maybe the inlet flow isn't good enough - dual lines or bigger hose. Nothing like paying $100 bucks for what looks like $2.00 worth of stuff! Thanks General. You should probably just throw it away and get a Udor like William

We put new ones on on the last rebuild. I will check it all but plungers are new, bolts, retainers and orings are all new the only thing that isin't new is the brass and the head itself.

Thats what Im doing pulling one of the generals and putting a udor 7gpm on that is just sitting in the shop, then im changing the other to a ts 2021. I have used the ts 2021s for years and never had the amount of issues Ive had with the higher flow generals.
