Universal Pricing (long)

Sorry guys, and gals, but I also find it funny at times that a good many of you feel you need $90.00 to $100.00/hr to make ends meet. I have been in business for a good number of years, I'm almost 50 years old. I charge $65.00/hr for everything I do. I stay busy, 6 days a week if I care to, and make a comfortable income. I read the thread about the $99.00 house wash over and over and agree that on a smallish home, that's good money if you know what your doing.
Any Comments?

I know this is an old thread, and likely Bob isn't around anymore, but here's my comment...

Who are YOU to set my prices? Great, $65.00/hour is great for you. That's what YOU have set for YOU. Why should I accept what you have decides is a fair rate? How about the guy who charges $30.00/hour for everything he does, and thinks YOU are way overpriced. Maybe he'd say something silly and poorly thought out like "I find funny at times that many of you think you need to make $65.00 an hour"

If I need to make $65.00/hour to stay busy and make what need to make, fine. If I can make $100.00/hour, even better.

how long ?

How long did you run the 79.00 special?

Glad to see that you became a success.

(ps)I know the post is old just reading old posts.

It's all about getting your foot in the door

What the 39.99 guy is doing is basic marketing. I come from a car sales background. Auto dealerships do this all the time. They advertise a 4x4 truck for a low price but when you get there they show you a stripped down model {if it's still there}. However, you are now in a potential buying mood so they show you a different package and sell you on the value you are getting with it. They would not be able to do that if they did't use the inexpensive truck as bait to get you there. It's all about getting your service in front of people then upselling. If you don't ask for the sell you can't get it.
