Vandalized Truck - Windows Broken Out

Apple Roof Cleaning

Roof Cleaning Instructor
Sorry to report one of our trucks was vandalized yesterday sometime.
This is an old Ford F 600 Flatbed.
I bought her for a grand, and she has new motor/trans in her.
Runs like a TOP.
She was a Cemetery Truck, hauled cement burial vaults.
An Old Florida Girl, she became expendable when the Cemetery was sold.
The man who sold the cemetery gave her to my mechanic, and he sold her to me.
I WAS planning to build what we jokingly refer to as the "Death Star".
I was gonna put 4 - 300 gallon tanks on her, 4 monster pumps, and run 300 to 500 feet of hose off each pump.
It was a THOUGHT of mine to build her for big commercial jobs only, or for LOAN to those needing a commercial battleship.
What you do is fill each of the 4 tanks she was to have 1/3 with chemicals, and drive to the job site.
Then, you fill her with water, fire up the monster pumps, and each of the 4 men go take down some roof.

I do believe this to be an accidental vandalism, although BOTH windows were broke out, AND they attacked the windshield too.
Probably bored, out of school Kids :(

Time to call the junkyards for some cheap glass :)

...what is "accidental vandalism"?? Sorry to see that happen to your DeathStar.
Yeah, maybe that was a bad description ?
School is out, and it is an easy target for bored Kids, parked on a side street with NO houses around.
But WHO would take out an old harmless truck that isn't even BUILT as a roof cleaning truck yet ?

I know this is an old thread but do you still have that truck. When I was a kid a friend of ours lived in the cemetary. He lived with his grandparents and his grandpa was the groundskeeper. Their house was in the back part of the cemetary, next to the maintenance sheds. It was situated where the public was not allowed and there were acres upon acres where we could cause mischief. We caused a lot of mischief. We were forbidden in the public areas (the cemetary is a business), forbidden on any equipment (dangerous), and prohibited from entering the maintenance office (tons of literature with a certain bunny logo). Of course being being young we broke all those rules. We were fooling around with a truck similar to yours in the shed and we slipped the brake and out of gear. It only rolled back a couple of feet and did not damage anything but we ran like hell because we did not want to face the wrath of the grandfather.

Wow! I just felt like I was reading a Steven King novel... Very cool. I Love stories like this.

The guys who did it are in Prison! Well, maybe they got out by now ?
It was 2 guys who scrap cars and especially Trucks.
They actually came to my door (after they did it) and offered to buy my Truck.
Their strategy is to break windows on older trucks, then buy the truck for nothing.
